So. I'm home relaxing on a Saturday evening...watching Seinfeld after the evening news...and then this other program comes on, I'm not paying attention, blah blah blah. Then I realize there's a guy yelling "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" all over the place, so I start trying to figure out what it is. Guess what? It's GodTV from Lakeland. In my living room. On my television. The 30-minute program is on right now. It's called "Anointed for Impact." I used to work at the TV station it's airing on...and I can tell you for a fact that Fresh Fire has to be paying for this slot. And there's a crawl asking for money, oh excuse me, asking people to "sow a financial seed." Look for it on your favorite local TV station. No sign of Todd. The substitute guy is sending this "fire" out to all the cities represented there in Lakeland and he's imparting "fire" through the TV into everyone's living rooms. He's commissioning people to do things that they used to do and no longer do? Don't know what that means, but oh wait, now he's moved on to healing. It's like multi-personality preaching or something. Here are some direct quotes: "This movement is about building people up into the fullness of who we are in the Lord." "Lives are being changed right now, destinies are being set in right now. The sound of the pig is being set in right now." (I swear it sounded like pig, I listened to it repeatedly.) This guy is out there and doesn't make sense, but he's a lot more coherent than Todd Bentley. It actually looked like he might really preach; he stopped in front of his bible, but then he walked away and started calling the prodigals back home. Now it's cut away to a commercial for Stand Firm World Ministries and they want me to be a partner by sending money. And it's over. I'm going to bed. I don't think anything got into my living room. Here are direct email addresses: testimony@sfwm.org, prayer@sfwm.org Just in case anyone feels like sending something...you know...uplifting.

It is a term known in the photography world at bokeh, it makes the background behind or beside an object or person look blurred, and it makes background lights, flowers, microphones, etc. look like blurred orbs.

ORIGINAL: dwtramm Here is a youtube video from Paula Price. I'm not trying to start a discussion on women preachers or anything, I just found what she said rather interesting. She compares the signs and wonders crowd i.e. Todd Bentley, etc... to Simon the Sorcerer. I'm not saying I agree with every detail she said, I just found what she said interesting, plus I wanted to show someone from the Pentecostal camp not supporting this stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpLrki3ZmtI This was refreshing. Someone who isn't jumping on the bandwagon of Lakeland.

Bentley, Cain, Rick Joyner and the disgraced and discredited Bob Jones*** all admire the false prophet Branham to this day. They saw him as great and wanted to be regarded as the next Great one. The people, who are so enamored by these false prophets, want greatness also, but in a different way. They lust for a "Great showy display of the power of God", their hearts are not right. Like the Samaritans in Acts 8, they are willing to be "astonished" by sorceries, false signs, gold dust, stigmata, etc, because they have departed away from God, and any sense of the truly awesome. Proverbs 9 says, "By the knowledge of the Holy comes understanding". Unfortunately these people have no understanding- listening to Bentley et al, one hears story after story of the varied subjective experiences these Mystics are having-"in the Holy place”,"under the shepherd's Rod"- yearly appointments with Jesus, of course on the Day of Atonement. As the Samaritans were enamored with Simon the Great, the so called Great power of God, this adulterous generation clamors for and will receive many more, perhaps even more powerful versions of Bentley, Cain, Joyner, Jones, and even Branham, until the coming of the ultimate "Great Man"- the antichrist, himself! My People Love It So… Why There Must Be Yet Another Mystical Revival By: Pastor Bill Randles quote:
Why does this blatant occultism, which in any other time would have been rigorously discerned and rejected by all evangelicals, now have a growing following? Because, My people love to have it so… the problem goes deeper than the heretical leaders of these movements, it is a matter of the unfaithfulness and disloyalty of God’s own people! There has to be a Todd Bentley trafficking in Angels, and reveling in the “power of God”, if there wasn’t one, someone would have to come up with one, to express and manifest the false spirituality of the multitudes of God’s people. To Expose God's People quote:
These apparent ‘signs and wonders’ are a spiritual test, God would have us know whether we “love the Lord our God with all “ of our heart and soul. What we are witnessing in this phenomenon is nothing less than spiritual adultery; MY People love to have it so… the last day’s defection we were warned about from the beginning. Who loves God with all of their heart and soul? Is it those who are constantly seeking ‘the power’? Is it those who are ‘madly in love with Jesus’? Is it those who are so tolerant of their ‘ministers’ that there is nothing they could ever say or do that would dissuade them from supporting them? Paul Cain can be exposed as a drunkard, Bob Jones as an abuser of women, but a Rick Joyner and a Todd Bentley can re-instate them into ministry as great men of God, even Fathers of the “prophetic”!

quote:
Deception can only deceive if it looks somewhat like the real thing. Apologist Craig Hawkins explains: “We must realize that the way to deceive people with counterfeits is to imitate the genuine article as closely as possible. For example, if counterfeiters want to pass off fake one-hundred-dollar bills, they do not print Donald Duck’s picture on purple paper. Instead they attempt to duplicate a true bill. Similarly, despicable persons who try to deceive others attempt to appear genuine and sincere. They do not walk up to you and inform you that they are there to deceive and defraud you. The far more effective method is faking friendship and fidelity.”1 Goethe taught that we are never deceived but that we deceive ourselves. It is true that religious hucksters are believed because people want to believe them. People want the claims to be true. One of Martin Luther’s favorite sayings was “mundus vult decipi” — the world wants to be deceived. Me? Deceived?

quote:
That breaks your heart. Umberto Eco's incredible novel The Name of the Rose gives a great deal of attention to the endemic craziness of the historical era he described. The medieval age was running on empty, the Reformation was gestating, and all kinds of revolutionary, supernatural, and demonic movements were afoot. Apparently, during times of mass anxiety at the end of an era, demonic breakthroughs erupt. A culture's immune system is compromised. Our Lord's era, for example, had a lot of demonic activities going on. So much so that "vagabond Jews, exorcists" like the sons of Sceva could find ready employment. (Acts 20) There was real spiritual power released when Hitler spoke, towards the end of civilized Germany's history, just before all Hades broke loose. (see the documentary Triumph of Will someday -- it literally begins with Hitler descending through the clouds ... ) Could it be that the Todd Bentley "healing crusade" with its massive weirdness falls into this category, as an end-of-an-era indicator? (this is not a conversation on eschatology. Ages have ended before -- and as we see in Matt. 24, it's very easy even for people close to Jesus to confuse the end of their world with the end of the world.) Well, there are two ways to consider this issue. We can fixate on the evil being unleashed, and cry out to God for all His dear children who are swept up in this madness, losing their minds, and becoming even less competent with their lives. Or, we can give thought to real things God is assembling behind the scenes, and seek to be in on what He is up to. Rom. 12:21

In my last update I said, “more exciting details will be forthcoming!” That said, our Board of Directors, ministry leadership, and spiritual advisors have considered and prayed into several key factors relating to good management and good stewardship of the revival. With venue costs and other practical matters in sight, a decision has been made to change the venue back to Ignited Church effective Sunday, Aug.3. Fresh Fire Ministries will continue to lead the revival meetings until August 23rd and after that, for the time being, the meetings will be under the direction of Pastor Stephen Strader and Ignited Church. Meetings will continue at the same time: 10AM and 7PM each day. Check the Fresh Fire website www.freshfire.ca for Ignited Church’s address. http://www.freshfire.ca/ And with all the documentation that NOT ONE single miracle and/or healing can be verified, it doesn't stop them in selling DVD's of the "Best of the Outpouring." quote:
God continues to stoke the fire of people’s hearts in this four DVD set, featuring more miracles, signs and wonders from The Florida Outpouring. quote:
This four DVD set highlights amazing testimonies and the transferable anointing power witnessed at The Florida Outpouring. Each DVD is filled with healings, signs, miracles, and wonders as thousands travel from all around the globe to be part of this significant revival.

ENGLAND quote:
* * BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND POSTPONED * * At present, our scheduled meeting to take place in Birmingham at the NEC center has be forcibly postponed. The NEC center is undergoing some renovation work to semi-attached surrounding building structures and we have been informed that the Stadium is not to be used during this time. So, with this information in mind, we have been left with no choice but to postpone our event as we do not have a venue for this period of time. Unfortunately, our scheduled meetings and itinerary are always subject to change as we have little control over such things as venues and speakers etc.

quote:
I became curious after watching the video and called numerous funeral homes in and around Lakeland, Florida. I spoke to officials and asked questions pertaining to a dead-man being raised to life from his coffin. A few asked, "Are you serious?" while others laughed. But without exception, they all said it had not happened. quote:
Anyway, one funeral home representative said that a family--via the Lakeland revival--had come to the funeral home and prayed for one that had died, but the burial took place as scheduled. quote:
It never hurts to ask, due to the fact that documented proof will stand up to intense scrutiny--provided the story is true, that is. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). Empty Coffin?

August 04, 2008 The Tents are Down and Todd Bentley is Leaving Lakeland Todd Bentley Revival Ending LINK quote:
We're after an atmosphere," Bentley said. "Come on people of God, we're after a revival atmosphere." Hanegraaff, the host of the "Bible Answer Man" radio program, said he often gets criticized for "judging" Bentley. Hanegraaff said such criticism is not biblical. "Not only is judging permissible -- it is a responsibility. Nobody's teachings are above sound judgment. Especially those who have influence and power," he wrote on his website, adding that people are leaving the meetings shipwrecked in their faith. "… While our Lord cautioned followers not to judge self-righteously, He also counseled them to make judgments based on right standards, and in the context of oft-quoted commands by Jesus such as 'Judge not or you too will be judged,' Jesus also exhorted us to judge false prophets whose teachings and whose behavior lead people to abject misery. Thus, while we're commanded not to judge hypocritically, we are, nevertheless, called to judge." quote:
I'm sure you have heard that the Lakeland meetings have dwindled, and the "big tent" has been abandoned in favor of the 700-seat Ignite church once again. I'm sure you have heard that your man Todd Bentley's meetings in England have been cancelled, and that respected leaders even within your own movements have found vast evidence of falsehoods, fraudulent claims, manipulation and hype of the most blatant kind. The news of it is worldwide. It is not just ABC Nightline. It is your own people saying these things. quote:
the British press is calling Bentley "A US child sex offender turned church minister who tries to cure cancer victims by kicking them" - and that 79% of Britons polled want to keep him out of the country. Where is the glory to Jesus in this? How could Todd even set foot in England under such a cloud?
