Actually, my son spent a year in Japan. There the Japanese God Emma-O is the king of Hell, translating quite closely to our popular mythology of "Satan". My son had quite a laugh when he first read Bentley's web site - and I understood after he explained that!

WOW! I wish I knew about Emma O when I had this discussion with a friend of mine. It almost caused us a fight. She is a full believer in revivals and in Todd Bentley and is blaming my weak faith for not allowing the Holy Spirit to work through me.

When I flip through the 'church' channels and see preachers/teachers I have never heard of, I am always wondering if they are aligned with God's agenda or their own. Kinda makes us guarded (maybe a better word would be jaded...), but it actually helps us to better understand and put into practice why in scripture it tells us to test the word; make sure what these people are teaching does align with God's Truth.

Periodically I will catch Jimmy Swaggarts timeslot on Saturday nights. What I see is a very humbled man who has come a long way from his time in the news. Growing up we watched his program, and he was my favorite t.v. preacher at the time; again, he has changed a lot since then. I believe he was strongly disciplined by the Lord, and he is now back on track in most ways. Anyway, a few weeks back he made a statement which almost floored me ~~ not that it was wrong, but that he was pretty much calling out those who teach these false teaching. He had mentioned 'generational curses' and stated how he was going to prove in scripture (debunk their teaching was his words) that they were wrong, and teaching falsities. He then proceeded to use a congregation members Bible, looked up the scripture in, I believe Isaiah, and proved them wrong. The verse simply states that a persons sins are not generational, that each is judged on his/her own sin. For a man who is a Pentacostal, I applauded him for making a stand, and stating what he did on national television.
