Brian goes to see an orthopedic surgeon this morning. I have a feeling he has a rotor cuff injury and will need surgery. Please pray that the doctor will agree this is a repetitive type injury from his job (driving trucks) so that worker's comp will cover any needed time off. If not, we have insurance for the medical part of it, but living on disability for however long will be impossible (without God ). Our budget is already squeaky tight.

Praying for Brian...and that this all works out. God has a plan, even if you can't see it yet. Well, yesterday we reorganized the girls room. Jake's room had a bunch of clothes buckets stacked behind his door, but they were unsafe to stay there (they keep falling when the door hits them)....so we pulled the toys out of the girls closet and put the buckets in there...Paul had taken down the doors to their closet, so those need to be put back up now. Their room really wasn't messy but about once a month or so I go through all the toy buckets to make sure they are still divided up right and don't have broken toys or trash in them. It's amazing how messy things can get in there sometimes!!!! Oh well.....one more thing marked off the list of things to get done before baby comes!!! Oh and I finally got hubby to hang up the bathroom stuff (towel holder, TP holder, etc) in one of the bathrooms!!!! So that's one more thing marked off the list!!!! hopefully this week hubby can paint the rest of the doors for the kitchen cabinets...I was doing them, but I can't bend over so well these days and those really need to get done and put back up...SOON.

I did send a couple ladies a link to a Canadian deals message board that lists deals and freebies and such... I haven't read it at all, so I don't know if it was good - who did I send it to? And was it any good? Redflagdeals.com has gotten me some great deals in the last week from reading their forums, but you can go a really long time without finding anything great from it. Christina - you are doing awesome quitting smoking. My mom smoked for YEARS, and I'm always proud of someone who gives it up because I've seen firsthand just how hard that can be. I remember as a child hiding my mom's cigarettes before I went to school. When I came home she was standing in the doorway and the first thing she yelled was "where are my cigarettes!" As a kid, I didn't understand the withdrawal part, I just wanted my mom to stop smoking. Alright, I have a HUGE to do list for today, so have a wonderful day ladies!

(((Donna and Brian))) Tattoos - I am to big of a baby and I would also worry about what it would like years from now when I am older and wrinkly...lol! Today the baby and I ran a few errands. My hubby is having drive everyday to Atlanta for a class and will not be getting home until 7. The upside is the pay for his gas in a set amount so we will make money off of him going that we can put toward some bills. I think next month I am going to do the giftcard special at Kroger that Prudent was telling me about. Our grocery budget is $300 for the month so if I buy a Kroger Gift Card for that amount I will automatically get a free $30 added onto it. Maybe that will help me spend more wisely. I am still really nervous about Friday. The thought of having to speak in front of a bunch of women I don't know scares me to no end. In real life I get very intimidated by large groups of women for some reason so this is totally out of my comfort zone. YIKES!!!

Doctor thinks maybe it is an AC joint strain, with possibly a small tear. He gave Brian a steroid injection and it did help almost immediately, so that would confirm that. Brian will go back in 2 months and if it is bothering him again, they will talk about surgery to see what is going on in there. He can still work in the meantime and the doctor seemed to think that if he does not need surgery, the shot would help it heal on its own before the 2 months are up. Oh, and I think the doctor well-documented that it was a work injury (falling off a truck onto that shoulder in January) and then repetition from work making it worse.

Donna, I hope Brian heals up quick! We had a "lazy" morning at the park. It was too gorgeous to leave. But I did walk 2 miles on the track so IMO that makes it worth the time spent there. The boys had a grand time on their bikes. Gonna do school after lunch. I cleaned on the weekend and all my laundry is washed and folded so I'm taking a break from all that. I think I made Josiah really upset yesterday, though he hasn't said anything. He was off that day, and on the phone about school stuff while I was in a rush to get the boys to an appointment. So I didn't get to say goodbye, tried to show him his lunch bag but he wasn't paying attention, then I got to the garage and realized I was going to have to move his car so I could get out. I think, in my rush, that I forgot to hit the button to close the garage. I always remember normally, but he was home, I was in a rush, my mind was on a bunch of things, and I can't remember hitting the button. He is super security conscious and if I did forget, at some point I'm going to get a serious lecture. I know he won't believe that every other time I leave, I remember to shut the garage. He's the same way about windows. If he gets to them before me in the evening, he assumes I've forgotten to shut them because in the past (several years ago) I forgot to shut them a few times.

Oh, and I think the doctor well-documented that it was a work injury (falling off a truck onto that shoulder in January) and then repetition from work making it worse. sounds like the same thing Paul had in his knees, just in the shoulder Donna. Paul's dr said the steroid shots for that injury to the knees doesn't really do much of anything in about 75% of the patients (that's why he went ahead and went with the surgery first before even trying the shots...so it wouldn't drag it out). I am not sure if it's the same figures for the shoulder though. I am glad they have it well documented that it's work related...that's a good thing!!!! my dad hurt his knee a few years ago (back when Jake was a baby)...he slipped on an oil spot on the ground and his knee basically bent backwards about 90°!!! OUCH!!!!! The steroid shots did nothing for that...and he chose instead of surgery to go a more natural route...he had a dr friend that worked with more "natural" things and he instead got some kind of shots directly into his knee. I can't remember exactly what they were, but they were some sort of herbal thing. That fixed his knee though...he ended up not needing surgery and after six months or so of injections he was off crutches. His dr's were amazed how well that worked without the surgery (esp considering how bad his injury was...they weren't even sure how well surgery would fix things in there). I know I told you about a friend of mine the other day on IM....she was in a car accident when she was pregnant with their daughter and hurt her shoulder very badly. She has nerve damage from it all and other damage (like Brian's damage). She has been telling me about some herbal oil typs thing she started using recently though that has really helped her with the nerve damage. I don't know what all it is, but maybe I can talk her into coming on and signing up for a username so she can tell you about it. (She isn't a person to follow every hoakie idea....very grounded person...so I trust her when she says that it has helped. I have seen her on many days barely be able to turn over in bed because of the massive nerve damage she had in that accident...and now she says she is sooooo much better and can actually live life again)

Hi all Just checking in. A little frustrated today but that's OK. I posted in the prayer thread about DFCS being called on us by someone (we think it was my mom) because I told her we are moving back to Minnesota from Georgia and she was mad then she turned around in under two hours she was being really nice to me and that isn't my mom at all. My daughter hurt her side at school and then a little girl next door kicked her in the same place. She is still in a lot of pain and took her to the doctor today and she had to go for more x-rays cause I guess a break in the ribs doesn't show up for 4-5 days. Of course the doctor said call at 2 and do you think that if you call at 2 the doctor is available no you have to leave a message. Ah sorry for rambling just my heart hurts so bad and I am so worried over my daughter. Thanks for letting me vent Donna glad to hear the Dr documented for Brian. Cute on the nose piercing being a sparkly freckle. Sorry if i missed anything else.

Michelle, I hope your daughter is alright. Maybe it's just bruised. Sarah, I would love to know what herbal things your friend took. Then I can research and decide if we want to try it. I am so thankful that it was put down in detail the incident that happened at work. Brian didn't fill out a report at work the day he fell off the truck because he didn't think he was really hurt. Just knowing that comp should cover it if he ends up out of work for a bit takes a huge load off of us. I hate that we have to worry about money when he is in pain. Brian just called to tell me he split his thumb open at work and needs to update his tetanus shot, so he's going to the doctor after work for that now. Boys...

I will try to see if she can post here....but if not I willa t least try to get the name of the stuff. She sent me a link to a web site that she gets it from, and said it was an "oil", but she never gave me any more info then just that and there are lots of oils on that site. quote:

Donna- praying for Brian Don't ya hate it when your hubby has a sort of dangerous job? I always worry about my hubby. On MOnday he came home with a cut on his head from hitting it on a trailer he was fixing. nose rings and piercings- I don't like them personally, on me or anyone else. I don't think they are "wrong" or anything, I just don't think they are all that attractive. My heart has been beating funny since last tuesday, hopefully it doesn't do it anymore (it was doing it once or twice a day) so I don't have to go to the docs thursday as I am way behind on housework.

Oi, Donna! What a day you've had. I'm glad the doctor documented Brian's injuries properly. I hope his thumb heals quickly.
