Memaw. -> Leaking Windshield (5/13/2008 10:06:37 AM)

During the rains we have had lately, we noticed our windshield has a leak!
It's on the top passenger side and when we are driving, the rain drips right on my knees![&:]

I don't want to have to replace the glass, is there a sealant or something we can put on it to seal the leak?

There should be, Kimmie. Do you have an Auto Zone or something close by? They are very helpful about such things[;)]

Yes, we have an Auto Zone and an O'Reillys.

I just always feel like a dummy going in there.[8D]

I had this problem on one of my cars awhile back. I used a black rubber cement in a tube. I don't remember the name of the stuff. The rubber seal around your windshield shinks over the years and dries out. This rubber cement seems to fill in the gaps and seems to work pretty well.

You can get this stuff almost anywhere.

That's okay...that's how you get people to help you! Sometimes I purposely walk in a parts or hardware store with a dumb look on my face so I don't have to look for whatever Brian has sent me for.[8D]
