We had four babies, and for the first few years there was lots of bad air to breath. Come to think of it, with two almost teen boys, the bad air continues.

I have two comments on this. First I think it's a respect issue, even if both do it there is still an assumed acceptance that stems from respect. The other is advice I will give to my kids. If you think your GF/BF or spouse is above farting think again, but try to keep the mystery alive for as long as possible. I think farting/burping is fun when your with the guys and up to a certain age, but at some point you have to realize that maturity and respect need to take over.

LOL

(By the way, what does the Bible have to offer on such a topic? What would Jesus do or say about this?)

((p.p.s. ..Btw, I've heard the holding farts is bad, because farting is a natural release of "bad" gas? inside of you. Therefore, if we make it a practice to hold it completely that is bad...But perhaps excusing oneself into another room is no harm if it takes just a few seconds. .....Then again....depending on one's health and age, etc. that may be too much of a hassle.....Ok, I'm confused again.))
