After 14 years of marriage, Shania and Mutt have split. He has basically been the driving force behind her career, producing her albums and putting her in the stratosphere. It'll be interesting to see if he will continue to produce her or someone else will.

Its going to be hard for her to come back, she hasn't had any hits in a long time, and she is getting older and the country music industry keeps looking for "young new talent". Same thing is happening with Faith Hill, she is still popular but the industry doesn't want to market female country singers that are hitting forty, with the exception of their legends, Reba and Dolly Parton.

I have noticed they keep promoting her husband Tim though. If they weren't married than you might not hear anything about her anymore. (Trust me I am not saying that 40 is old but from a marketing standpoint they don't want to focus on older women.)



They are focusing on women like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift who are in their late teens early twenties.

She did write some of her songs though so she may be able to write for others.

Shania & Mutt have writing credits on most, if not all of her material. She wouldn't have to work again if she didn't want to.
