Austins Bridge Hits a Home Run At Winterfest

Daywind recording artist, Austins Bridge hit a home run with 20,000 youth and attendees at Winterfest 2008, held at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, TN, this past weekend.

Austins Bridge appeared along with the David Crowder Band, Jason Crabb, and American Idol finalist, Phil Stacey, among others.

Festival coordinator, David Blair, had this to say about the group. “Truly Austins Bridge was a highlight of the entire Smoky Mountain Weekend. Their incredible harmony, down home personality and tremendous message are making them one of most exciting bands anywhere in the country. We are receiving very positive responses to their ministry this weekend.”

Winterfest 2009 plans are underway. It will be held March 13–15, 2009, at the Thompson-Boling Arena. Keep checking www.mywinterfest.com for information concerning artists and speakers.

Daywind recording artist, Austins Bridge was recently in Atlanta, GA, taping for an appearance on Gospel Music Channel’s Kitchen Sink, hosted by Elle Duncan.

The Dove nominated group performed two songs, which will be featured on the television program. They appeared along with evangelist, author, and singer, Bishop Paul Morton.

The show will air multiple times on the Gospel Music Channel network. The network reaches nearly 40 million viewers each day. Watch for the premiere on Saturday, April 12th, 2008, at 8:00 pm eastern. It will encore at 11:00 pm on the same day and again, on Sunday, April 13th, 2008 at 12:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm. It will air twice more, on Monday, April 14th, 2008 at 10:00 am, then Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 at 2:00 pm.

Joey, I saw that on GM TV. Saw Karen Peck and New River also. They do more different types of Christian music on that network but some Southern Gospel.

I attended this WINTERFEST and they were AWESOME!!! I was actually a fan long before the winterfest trip, but it was neat to see my youth members enjoy a little more traditianal music (compared to the rest of their ipod library). I truly believe their tenor is one of the best in the business (whether in bluegrass, traditional SG or contemporary SG). I was also able to meet and talk with them breifly after their Sunday morning performance at WF (they did a "teaser" performance Saturday night and then led worship on Sunday Morning), and they all seem to be great guys.

I agree. I saw them back in April and was impressed! I really enjoy their country sound/style. Hearing them sing "He's In Control" live in concert is amazing. I look forward to seeing them again and I also look forward to the new album.

Don't know. I know they are working on songs now. They sang a new one when I saw them in concert back in April. It was great (if I remember correctly the title of the song was "Hold On To Jesus").

I can't wait. I think they are one of the best out there in country gospel genre. (((a fave of mine.[:D]))))

still need to get that Crabb Revival cd.

a question. how good is audience reaction to Dry Bones? that is likely along with He's In Control my faves by them

That is the song they opened their set with. Great song, but it didn't quite get the reaction "He's In Control" did.

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/20/2008 9:59:30 AM)

can understand that. from what have seen, first songs dont get reactions till later and a slow one gets the crowd. especially powerful lyrics such as that one

jabird41 -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/20/2008 10:15:26 AM)

These guys are great friends of mine and I love all three of them very much. In my humble (but correct! haha, j/k) opinion... they are some of the best talents out there. Vocally and instrumentally (if you have a chance to see them with their full band you are in for a treat!) those guys just tear it up. And the annointing! WOW! [:D]

The times I've seen them, they've always closed, or very nearly, the show with Dry Bones. It's always gotten a terrific response from any crowd I've been in and it's a personal favorite of mine. He's In Control is also awesome...but my personal favorite part of their sets has to be the "worship" part. Justin takes the piano and the guys sing some old hyms along with a few P&W type songs like "Holy Ground".

Sing2him -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/20/2008 4:11:24 PM)

I have been looking for the Accompaniment track to "Dry Bones" for my girls to sing in church. That is their FAVORITE song in the whole wide world right now! I emailed their website, but haven't heard anything back as of yet. Have any of you guys seen any of the songs from their first album available on track?

Have you tried looking at daywind.com for the track? Or contacting someone there... they would most likely be able to help you get a hold of a track faster.

frances67 -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/20/2008 11:32:24 PM)

I have never heard this group in person and I really do not know anything about them. But I did hear a song of theirs played on our local southern gospel radio station today and I really enjoyed it. It caught my attention so I made sure to hear who was singing it. I may end up having to buy one of their cds[:)]

TQ_Fan_4_Life -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/21/2008 1:48:54 AM)

only have one so far. Austin's Bridge. least I kn ow of but one

Seaton -> RE: Austin's Bridge (5/21/2008 7:35:35 AM)

I believe the group was actually called Route 43 (after Justin left the Crabb Family and assembled the group) prior to the name change to Austins Bridge. I have a recording of "There Is A River" they did prior to becoming Austins Bridge. I don't know if they ever released an entire album under the name Route 43.
