Ok - I'll resurrect this thread. Here's my job history from start to finish:
Before college, starting at age 14:
- Apple Dumpling's and Ice Cream Girl at the Renaissance Festival
- Library page (hated it - I had to be quiet ...)
- Computer Operator for a government agency (back when computers were huge and had punch cards ...)
- Clerical Assistant for the same government agency
- Program Assistant for the same government agency (a pretty fun job because it was more people oriented than the other two)
- Shoe salesperson for Payless shoes (I lasted 2 weeks, then quit)
- Telemarketer for a bank (I lasted 2 weeks, took 2 weeks vacation, then quit)

After college:
- Technical writer for a contracting company
- Graphic Artist for the same contracting company
- Technical writer/graphic artist/web developer/web designer/requirements manager/tester/trainer and anything else that the programmers didn't feel like doing ... for a contracting company
- Multimedia developer for the same contracting company
- Minister for a church (I did this while I was a technical writer and multimedia developer)
During graduate school:
- Graduate teaching assistant and research assistant for a university
- Actress/musician/and dancer for a ministry (my current position)
- Freelance writer for my own writing business (I'm working on setting this up now ...)
It looks like I've had a lot of jobs, but in actuality, I usually stick with a company for a while. I've worked primarily for 3 different companies/agencies over a span of 17 years (one for 6 years, another for 1.5 years, and one for 10 years). A couple of the jobs were seasonal (RenFest and Graduate Teaching Assistant), two were real duds and I quit, and one was a nice job (library page) but when a better job opened up ... well ... I had to take it.

Ok, I don't feel like going back to see if I posted so here I go. Plus what I do may have changed.
I work during the school year as a daycare provider. But I have been doing that for quite some time now and have decided that once my kids (the ones I watch) are in school, I am not going to replace them and get out of that business So about two years ago, I started a business in direct selling with L'Bri. They are a company based right here in Wisconsin. They are also a newer company so the market isn't saturated with consultants and they sell skin care, body care, makeup and nutrition items. I have been doing pretty well with it and have decided that if I can't find a part time job that fits around my schedule when I have no more kids in the house during the day, I will be fine with this.

I'm a hull-outfitting designer at a large east coast shipyard. Essentially, I'm part of the team that decides where all the "stuff" goes on the ship...everything from how the medical space is laid out to deciding where the fire extinguishers go. Right now, I'm part of a team (of 2) that goes back and fixes what was missed during the initial design cycle. I love what I do. It's fun, it's interesting, and getting to see what I am a part of profiled on the Discovery Channel is really cool.
My husband does the same sort of thing, only he is a piping designer. He routes the piping systems through parts of the ship.
We work in the same building, me upstairs, him downstairs. I've been at it longer than he has, he's also retired Navy...24 years worth.
We live near a huge Navy base, so we've never really moved around at all.
Prior to that, I was primarily in fast food/pizza management (Papa John's, Little Caesar's and Burger King).
I was a SAHM way back when...but gave it up when I divorced my X.

HNT, that is awesome. JC Penney used to do that with their catalogue calls. They would set you up in your home office with phone and internet and the pay was not bad for being able to get up and work in your jammies while the kids were still sleeping.

My job has changed. My hubby and I are owners of our own restaurant: Dentes' Italian Restaurant. We currently made it through our first week of business.
