There are a lot of things that are funny in this world, however, I believe that Christians need to use discretion when laughing at things that are funny according to world standards, but not according to Christian ones.
So what do you think is NOT funny? I think that videos or jokes about men getting hit in that part of their body are NOT funny. I also think that racist or dirty jokes and jokes about hurting/killing people or animals are NOT funny.

Quite frankly, I think in 99% of cases, the morality of a joke is not decided by its content, but rather by the situation in which it is told. SonInMe, with the example you used, I can definitely understand it not being funny. But for me, if one of my good friends did that to me, heh, I'd probably still be in pain, I'd think it was funny, because I knew my friend meant it that way.
Even things like racist jokes can, I think, in some cases be OK. If I'm telling them with a group of friends who know that the only reason I'm telling them is to point out the utter stupidity of racism, then I don't think it's wrong. Especially if they're aimed at my own race, heh. Some of my best laughs have come with a multi-racial group telling insensitive jokes, because we all realized we were telling them purely in jest.
And sometimes, seemingly innocent jokes can be very offensive. One time, my Pastor told a blond joke in church (not even one of the more offensive ones... I don't remember it exactly, but I don't think it made them out to be especially stupid or anything, as most do), and soon after, a blond visitor that morning got up and walked out. Obviously nobody can say for sure, but it seems likely that in this case, a joke that was meant well was taken very wrongly - hence why it's important to not only be aware of your own heart attitude about the joke you're telling, but also the potential heart attitude of those who might be listening.
So, I would say - look at the heart of the joke, both the heart of the teller, and the heart of the tellee. While there are some jokes I would deem automatically wrong (The Aristocrat, for example), I would say very many of them can be used for either good or evil.

Duplicity(projecting a persona for an accepted audience; honesty is much easier to dislike)and cruelty(both physical and emotional).

Crude sexual humor is not funny.
Anything that truly diminishes the value of a human being is not funny. (there is humor that is done satirically that does not cross this line. . . but much of it is based off the recipient of the "joke" as well).

See... were I in a snarky mood, I would probably say something like "I think YOUR MOM is not funny!" But that isn't funny to 90% of the world either. Were I being overtly hyper-religious I would say "I think SIN is NOT funny." But that is too true to be enjoyable.
My final answer? Kitschy church marquees are definitely NOT funny.

Being cruel about some and the way they look, or sexual orintation abuse ( even if I do not believe in it) Racial jokes, blonde jokes, or making fun of overweight people. Being mean and abusing animals. Above all mocking the Lord in any way, or George Bush jokes, mob rule ignorance.

Racial jokes really make me mad, our youngest daughter is Cree Indian and has three small children. Most of the jokes here are aimed at native Canadians and they make me sick. Anything that hurts another person is unacceptable in my book and anything that dishonours our Lord is difinately out of line.

Can I make jokes about myself?
I do it all the time. Fat jokes. Sinner jokes. Heck I even joke about Jesus.
I am not sure a "good" christian is one without a sence of humor.
My church often has a very humorous bent. Tonight they put up on the big screens a promotion for an upcoming sermon series that kicks off on Father's day. It was a "commercial" for...Mandles
The candles with man smells, from lockeroom smel to...burrito fart.
I'll bet they will get a few e-mails over that but I can tell ya...it was extremely funny.

I think this can be/is offensive to underweight people also. For example, I dislike jokes/comments about how overweight people are always couch potatoes just as much as I dislike someone saying that underweight people are always starving themselves.

Jokes that make lite of brutal killers and political leaders or make light of catastrophic events where human life was lost.
I can understand people in tragic circumstances making jokes to keep up spirits but I am always hurt inside when I hear jokes about hiroshima or 911.
I also hate generic racist jokes where you can change the subject to any faith or nationality.
I really hate the popularity of comedians who are really just standing on stage saying really nasty things about people-I don't care if they are witty and observant.
In the uk recently we have had the mills mccartney divorce story and the amount of amputee jokes are horrific..usually her amputated leg is likened to a mark on a witch like a wart or big green nose. I always fail to see why it's relevant that she has a leg missing and that that is used to support bad views of her. That's just not funny.
You actually can be funny without being cruel.

First and foremostly, parodies against Jesus/God/Christianity. Highly blasphemic and offensive. I'm looking at you, Bobby Henderson.
Everything else from toilet humor to the demeaning of an individual all for the sake of a brief chuckle. That's not comedy, that's desperation.

I agree heartily that parodies about the Lord are not funny. I also cannot stand any jokes about children or babies being hurt, and I DESPSISE America's Funniest Home Videos. Can someone put that show out of our misery? Other than these things, almost everything else can be funny at one time or another. Whether we like it or not, tragedy and comedy are often two sides of the same coin.
