Eastside Mario's. Actually found it first when we went to Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) and found out that there's one here in my neighborhood. Their food is better plus it's cheaper and they have other food than pasta and great service too. I love Eastside Mario's as well (going there soon!) but I find that if you eat there a lot, you quickly run out of new dishes to try. (I used to work near one so all of our work functions were there.) We went there last Monday and they do have a new menu but then I always eat the same thing so I can't recall if they have new dishes. I love their angel hair with veggies, once in awhile I order it with shrimps.

Some other favorites in Los Angeles... The Palm on Santa Monica in West Hollywood. Their Steaks, Veal Scallopine and Creamed Spinach are to die for! I also love Musso & Frank Grill on Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood for steaks. La Scala Boutique on Canon in Beverly Hills for their famous Chopped Salad And for a great breakfast...DuPar's on Fairfax at The Farmers Market!

Here is another one of my favorite resturants. It is in Bishop, California. When we drive through Bishop on our way to Tahoe, we always stay the night and Eat at Whiskey Creek. Sometimes we have dinner and come back in the morning for Breakfast. It has a cute country store also. I have had the Asian Salad and the Carabean Shrimp. Both were awesome. I have had other things too, all were good, but the shrimp was Wow! Whiskey Creek

Then Olive Garden is Patooooooey on a national level!! LOL....we used to love going to Olive Garden as children...then they shut it down on a national level. There is a southern buffet place I went to Indiana last year, I wish I could remember the name to mention it here. It was pretty good to me, but it must have been excellent to the rest of the diners, because I have never seen people eat so much food in my life!!!!

ORIGINAL: Kat_D Okay, here are my favorite Jewish Deli's in Los Angeles: Canter"s on North Fairfax...awesome! I love their corned beef sandwiches, matzo ball soup, Lox and bagels, etc. and Nate 'n Al's on North Beverly in Beverly Hills...fantastic! I recommend their Matzo Brie, Chopped Liver, Gefilte Fish and... wait for it... . . . Hot Tongue Sandwich on Rye! Have you eaten at D.Z's, in San Diego? If so, how does it compare to the places you mentioned in L.A.

IMHO, there are no really good Jewish Deli's in San Diego.

Buddys is good too. I like them better. The original is in Detroit or Hamtramck and there are a few other locations.

West side of Phoenix Cucina Tagliani- Italian food that blows Olive Garden right out of the water, and slightly cheaper too! Lots of pasta, oven baked pizzas, etc. Its all good! Golden Greek- seriously the best gyros I've ever had. Don't bother ordering anything else (although I'm sure everything is good). This is a hole in the wall place that's been around forever. Its run by an older lady and 2 of her grown kids. The restaurant is very small and can be busy around dinnertime, especially Friday and Saturday, so lunch is a better bet. Oh, and they are closed on Mondays. Lenny's Burger Shop- Right in the middle of downtown Glendale. Awesome food, fairly cheap. Kiss the Cook- we usually go here for breakfast. Great food, not too expensive. Be prepared to wait on Sunday mornings.

I don't eat a lot of Thai food so the only one I know about is the Siam Spicy II in Farmington Hills on Northwestern Highway. The owners opened a few other thai restaurants (there is another one by twelve oaks mall) We went to claimjumpers when we were in Phoenix. We also went to Pinnacle Peak too

Some of my favorite San Francisco restaurants: Bay Watch Restaurant on Lombard Street in Cow Hollow. Great breakfast joint! They have some fantastic chicken/basil turkey sausage that I crave. Crab House at Pier 39 My favorite Pier 39 restaurant...great sea food (of course), fun atmosphere. Jardiniere on Grove Street near Civic Center. Gorgeous restaurant, wonderful food, pricey but worth it! Mel's Drive In on Geary...great hamburgers fun 60's style restaurant. Tommy's Mexican Restaurant on Geary Street...usually very crowded because it has great food!! North Beach Restaurant on Stockton. Wonderful authentic Northern Italian food!

Going down I-75 south of Atlanta at dinner time, stop at exit 201 (with all the truck stops) and eat at Buckners. Buckers is located behind the Flying J, and has been there since I can remember... used to eat there after church when we lived in the area. It's a small family owned, southern home cooking, family style restaurant (you sit at a big table with other strangers). Food is placed on a lazy susan, 3 meats 4 vegies, and cobbler for desert. All you can eat and is between $$ and $$$. In Macon, GA on Riverside Drive across from I-75 is S&S Cafeteria. Locally owned franchise, but really good for for little $. Their kids meals are the best deals! I can take my family and the in-laws for a total of 3 adults and 6 kids... and not spend more than $35!!!! Going further south, just outside of Montezoma, GA on Hwy 26 is Yoders. A Mennonite family owned restaurant. They serve what they grow and produce. Very good home cooking, and a fair price. $$$ In Atlanta, any Ray's restaurants... Rays on Killer Creek, Rays on the River, and Rays in the City. Very fine dining, dress code, and a great place to take the wife for a special occasion. Kids are not prohibited, but they do not have a kids menu. $$$$+ North east of Atlanta in Cumming, GA at Hwy 369 & 306 in the Publics shopping center, Rice is the BEST sushi and chines restaurant in the whole metro area. The down side is it's very small with limited seating. Tables fill up fast, but we usually just get it take out. $$ to $$$ depending on what you order. In Gainesville, GA, Seabones is downtown on the square. Casual, fine dining and not too bad on price $$$. For an inland restaurant, they have the best seafood I've ever had. Only open for the evenings. In the northeast corner of GA, Rabun County, Clayton, GA, Oinkers BBQ just south of town on Hwy 441. Great BBQ! Small family owned, and they are only open a few days each week. $$$. And of course in the same area, everyone knows about The Dillard House. It is good food, mostly home cooked all you can eat, but is not cheap. $$$$. However, if you ask for the "local discount", they'll knock off 30% to make it $$$. You don't have to be a resident to get the "local discount"... you just have to know to ask for it. In downtown Franklin, NC next to the courthouse, The Chef & His Wife. It's "American Grille" for casual, fine dining. $$$ I'm sure I'll remember more later, but that's off the top of my head. The one thing I love about my job and the traveling... I love to meet the people and eat good food with them.
