Interestingly enough, although I don't always agree with Manda, I see Laura and Manda as having a lot in common, in that they are both willing to go against the grain, as it were.

Ah, better thanks. I just have to keep on top of these headaches, and I'll manage.

How far along are you, Ruth? Are those headaches pg related or something you always have to deal with?

Manda goes against the grain? Uh oh, but I agree with her most of the time I've learned a lot since I started talking to people on the internet, that I've actually carried over into real life when talking with people, listening to their problems, and giving advice. When I give advice (if I ever have it) I tend to do it in a private message. It's for a few reasons. One reason is, I'm not completely open about my life or what I've been through right out in the forums. I have no problem sharing what I've gone through for the purpose of giving advice or encouragement, but I'd rather it be between myself and that person, when needed. I could end up telling everyone eventually, and that's fine, but I'm not going to put everything out for everyone to read right away. The second is, my advice often comes in the form of questions and repeating. It's the faut of a counselling course I took in school, where they teach you to not actually give advice. So I'd rather do it through pm than clog up the threads. I remember once asking Nicole a question to see if a possible idea might work. Sarah said she disagreed with that method, but I hadn't actually gotten to the part where I explained why I thought it might work or how it might work. Sarah saw it being done one way, where as how it would be one was different in my mind. There was no harm that came from any of it, but I know that my style of talking through things with people could maybe be misunderstood, so it's more appropriate to do it in private message. Maybe I come across to others as not being interested in people's problems, or ignoring people, if I'm not seen addressing what people say, but I guess as long as I know my intention and the person I'm talking with knows my intention, that's good enough for me.

Jeannie, I just wanted to say thank you for coming back and explaining what happened in the pregnancy thread. I had missed it the first time around, because the post was deleted before I ever got to read it, and the only bits and pieces I could gather from other posts didn't leave a good impression. All I knew is that you must have said something terrible because everyone was mad at you. I'm glad to know what actually happened.

ORIGINAL: MamaMilty How far along are you, Ruth? Are those headaches pg related or something you always have to deal with? I'm 13 weeks, but I honestly think it's the weather, if that doesn't sound to weird. We had a long dry spell, but in the last 4 days we've had a lot of humidity, T-storms ... everything just has a heavy feel to it. The barometric pressure has been swinging all over the place. My sinuses are bothering me, too. I want to take more Tylenol, but it's to soon right now. Nathan woke early this morning, so I've just put him to bed. He's not sleeping but not crying, just messin' around in his crib. That's good I guess. Lexie, going against the grain can be good sometimes, so don't feel bad for agreeing with Manda!

Sounds like it is the weather, Ruth. I have sensitive sinuses too. Have you tried Sudafed...even half a dose is enough to help me sometimes, and it is pregnancy safe.

The only time I have ever had headaches and sinus issues is when I am pregnant. It starts at about 14 weeks for me. Donna is right, Sudafed is your friend.

Ugh. I get those same headaches Ruth. It's really bad here because we will go months without rain(literally, it was like 3 months last year) and then we'll get a week of thunderstorms and the pressure changes just kill me.
