ORIGINAL: noblesinger Our pastor has developed the habit of including the groom in the ceremony itself by having his parents stand to their feet and give their consent for him to be married. It has always been that a precher would ask, "Who gives this woman to be married to this man?", and for a long time the response by the father was "I do." Nowadays, though, the father usually says "Her mother and I," which I think is far better. As far as the groom being an afterthought, I didn't let that happen in my wedding - I planned our ceremony, not Mary. That's one way to make sure of being included, isn't it! Well...all I can say is I TRIED to involve my husband in the planning but he would just get that glazed over look in his eyes and mumble uh huh when ever I asked for an opinion or involvement. He just said tell me when and where I'm suppose to be and I'll be there otherwise have fun!

Seems like I miss SM, what few times she's posted, ever since she left us back here in the East.

ORIGINAL: Ps103 I think there was room for one more post before it went to 100 pages, but after several time of thinking I had plenty of time and being wrong, I decided to make sure I didn't flub the dub this time My little niece is getting married on Saturday, so I am running around a lot this week. My l'il brother is *not* going to make it through this wedding without crying, so that means *I* won't make it through without crying, either. Bless his soft little heart. He likes the boy, though--and he is a nice boy. My nephew, after being forced to be in several of his aunt's weddings (including mine, but his mother has six sisters) ran off and got married in January . He saw how the groom was sort of an after thought in a lot of weddings and didn't want anything to do with one of his own. Sad thing is, he is right. Kate one of the hardest things I have done was walking my baby down the isle and uttering those four blasted words "Her mother and I". Yep cried every step of the way. It's bad spending all that time and money raising one just to utter those four words and give her to someone else.

I came online to lurk for awhile and first thing I saw was this about heat!! Well, would you all be kind enough to send some north west please? We have been really cool this spring - a high of maybe 70, if we're lucky and still frost warnings some nights. This is not a record for our area but definitly below average, I think. Crops and gardens are very slow because of this. So, please share, would you?

Talked to Joey this afternoon. Also just got off the phone with the Wild West Girl herself. Sharon-Marie said to tell everyone hello.
