quote:
ORIGINAL: Won_by_One ...if even one loved one of yours goes to hell? As strong as my faith is, I can't comprehend that. Well, God tells us that in Heaven, He will "Wipe away every tear from our eyes..." So apparently there will be some tears at our first appearing in Heaven, but that God will comfort us. When we do get to Heaven, we will be like Jesus, and part of that is to have a perfect sense of justice. Yes, we will have loved ones in Hell, but you have to remember, Hell is not cruel - it is JUST. No one receives more punishment than is due them. As far as secular law goes here on earth, if we have a loved one in jail right now after they've been found guilty for murder, we may sorrow because they have done wrong, but we certainly do not sorrow for their punishment because they must pay for what they have done. Even here, our sense of justice cries out for something to be done because such a horrible crime has been commited. In Heaven it will be somewhat similar - we grieve because they have committed a horrible sin against God, but their punishment is just. This may not be exactly what you were looking for, but it is Biblical - I hope this helps.
