I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about how I can go about finding someone to come to my grandparents house and cut their toe nails. My grandfather is bed ridden and has diabetes, so he can't get his toe nails cut properly. Is there a service of some sort that I can use where they do things like this for the elderly when you need them? I couldn't find anything online, and I was hoping someone here could give me some leads. Sorry if this is the wrong forum section for this. God bless.

I'm not trying to be difficult, but why can't you or other members of your family do it for them?

When my parents got sick and were unable to do those things, my daughter gave them manicures and pedicures, my sister gave them facials and cared for their skin, and I cut and washed their hair.

It is a great blessing to do those things for our loved ones. As a matter of fact, I think the one providing the services gets blessed 100 times more than the one receiving them.

I would call local manicure shop and ask them if they do this (come to the home) or if they know someone who does. Do you have a local adult day care center? They might have a suggestion for you.

Sometimes podiatrists will do this - but I've only seen them visit nursing homes or assisted living facilities - I don't know if they do home visits. Have you tried your state's department of aging to see if they have a list of recommended resources online? I totally understand why you or your family members don't do this given the complications that can arise if you accidentally cut them (older toenails can be very very thick) - especially when diabetes is involved. I agree the the local adult day care center or a senior center might be a good resource for you as well.

Have you looked into Home Health Care?
