AS a Southern Gospel Fan, if the Publishers Clearing House van pulled up to your house and presented you with a check for 10 million dollars what would you do?

For me after Tithing and paying off debt I'd love to set up a foundation to help out local/regional Southern Gospel groups get better equipment and get recorded. I hear so many so many of these wonderful dedicated singers who through lack of funds or lack of connections never get heard outside of a small area and I'd love to be in a position to help some of theme expand their ministries.

I'd also love to set up an amphitheatre and have outdoor Southern Gospel concerts.

In all honesty I'd probably set aside $25,000 to eat a bunch at Tony Gore's BBQ[:D][:D][:D]

After tithing, paying off debt, and taking care of aging parents I would like to set up a foundation to offer adoption grants to folks who want to adopt domestically who cannot afford the huge fees. I know when we were adopting there was nothing out there to help unless you were doing international adoption. [;)]

As for my love of SGM...I would be able to go to any concert I wanted and buy all the product I could!!![:D]

Well......I'd tithe, pay off debt, pay taxes and then I would set up trust accounts for my children. With what was left I would help those in need. [:D]

Tithe, pay off my debts & my immediate family's debts (that wouldn't take much). Put some aside to live off and then fulfill a dream: open & operate group homes for foster children in my area.

I'd invest in many $100,000 certificate of deposits at many institutions in order to keep FDIC insurance. I'd set them up to have the bank's mail me the interest checks each month instead of rolling the interest into the principal. Now that I'm earning $10,000+/month and never having to worry about running out of principal, I'd use the leftover amount and pay off all my debts. I'd find something part-time to do to keep myself occupied such as starting a mixed P&W/SG trio that I've always wanted to do but haven't had the time for yet. I'd also donate to church and see what family needs I could meet for both my and my wife's family.

I'd tithe, maybe buy our church a new building, and maybe buy some more members :)
Invest
Purchase a bus
start a group
hire a band
go only on love offerings [:D]
start a recording studio
if i have enough money left over i'll purchase a Denon AKDL1 Dedicated Link Cable by Denon. (see david bruce murray's blog very funny! musicscribe)

Strictly in the SG world:

Offer Brian Free, Jonathan Wilburn, Eric Bennett, Jeff Stice, Ricky Free, and Adam Borden the best-paying salaries in SG and hit the road with them singing 1 date per weekend, and flying them home so they can spend the max amount of time with their families. [:)]

After the goverment got theirs and I did my tithe and faith promise (mission giving) I'd be sure my family was taken care of.

Then on the SGM side, I'd have a huge concert with ALL of my favorite artists. It would have to be a several day deal to get them all in (some would have to stay the entire time - you know who you are! [:D]) but we'd do fun stuff during the day as well have a LOT of SGM. Then for recreation - I'd invite a dozen friends and family to join me on one or two of the cruises. Or maybe we'd rent out the boat and let the groups come and just enjoy life instead of having to be ON for the week. The groups and family members would be free and those coming on the cruise that were not artists would get discounts but instead of 'shows' to watch, they could attend jam sessions when the artists felt like it, the rest of the time everyone would just enjoy the food, fellowship and ports of call.

$5M is all you'd have to work with....I doubt that would come close to be enough.

I think would get my group going. pay tithes, build a new Church for my Church, and send piles to missionaries. then would start my own touring time and would not be charging crazy prices for tickets. get my fave groups to join it.


then would start a record label that would let the artists choose the singles they wanted to release because who knows better how the Lord moves with them than the artists. I know the label doesnt.

would start a publishing company.

Borrowing from TQ fan's idea, I would definitely hire all my favorite groups (who weren't splintered from members joining mine [:D]) to tour with me. How's that for a selfless attitude? [8D]

i would give my tithes, buy my mother a new house w/hired help, give to the kids and grandkids, buy a new bus, buy a double cheese burger, and help the poor. oh yeah, buy my wife a new car....[:)]

I would throw a big barbeque for everyone in the county and anyone on the forums who wanted to attend. I would hire all our favorite groups to sing at this all day bash.

I would stock the libraries of the local nursing homes with a good sound system and a collection of Gaither and other SG videos and CDs.

First I would change my phone number, then pay my tithe, and take a long vacation & invest the rest. Of course the goverment would take their share before I got any to begin with.

I would tell them they made a mistake since I never entered their sweepstakes! [:D]

Seriously though, I would give 10% to the church, pay off all my debt. Set aside $100,000 for each of my two kids for the future, and then donate the rest to the poor.

Other than the obvious such as tithing, paying taxes, paying off debts of mine, my families, and my closest friends, then i would start making reservations for all the big SG events of the year, i would be at the NQC for all 6 days, all the SG cruises during the year, the Brumley singing , the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion, and many of the big sings and group homecomings that i could physically attend.

Oh yea, i forgot, first of all!, i would quit my job! I would call the turnpike and tell them I have collected the last toll .[:D]
