You might be a Southern Gospel fan if a SG performer has sent you a friend invite on myspace.

remember when the men combed their hair & not have it standing up. Or when the ladies only wore matching long dress.

Friday I had to have my gall bladder removed. My wife said that after they gave me some meds to relax me a little, one of the nurses came in and asked if I was ready to go. Meaning ready for surgery. I supposedy broke into " I'm ready to go, when he calls my name I'll fly, I'm ready to go". I think that would qualify for this thread.

You might be a SGM fan if you bought a raffle ticket for a $100 gas card because it would let you get to one more concert this month!

You might be a SGM fan if you hear about hurricane evacuees going to Louisville, KY, and your first thought is 'the convention is next week, is this going to be a problem'! (Lord, bless those poor people is somehwhere further down the list)

Got to confess, I thought the same thing! Thankfully, everyone should be able to return home very quickly! (and I mean, thankfully for them!)

You might be a SG music fan if you tell your vacation stories like this:

Southern Gospel Music was my First Love ever since I was just a little Hopper. It all started on a trip we took Down East. A friend gave us directions. He said we had to go at Easter time. Directions were to look for the Gold City as you go through the Palmetto State going all the way to Florida.

We started planning the journey. The big decision. Do we drive(the Primitive way), or do we fly on an Heirline? We decided to drive.

We started out on our journey. We had to pass over Three Bridges through the Blackwoods where we would have Greater Vision to see the Harvesters Comb the fields. Our trip took us through the mountains where we could hear Dixie Echoes from Dixie Melody's as we Crosswayed the New River.

We stopped along the way at a restaurant to eat. We sat in a Booth where we ate Greenes, Burgers and Crabbs. What a great meal!

We finally reached our destination which was a grand Cathedral where the Bishop led the service. What an Inspiration!

This is where we found Assurance to find that our Triumphant way to heaven has been Paid in Full by a wonderful Savior, who out of Compassion left Mercy's Mark on my life. The Savior's sacrifice is a Monument to the fact that if we are saved, we are all Kingdom Heirs and are Heavenbound.

WOW!!!
That was really Good!
I'm giving you a hand clap!

I had to bring this back to the top because this actually happened to us today. You might be a Southern Gospel Fan if you buy tickets to a SG concert and then have to stop at the Cracker Barrel and eat. And then you get scolded for singing "Moving Up To Gloryland" while your waiting for your food. (true story, ask BRBB)

Mrs. BRBB. I think she's embarrassed by us sometimes. I wonder why.

After they messed my order up and brought me okra and fried apples instead of the mashed potatoes and cole slaw that I ordered, I was afraid to order dessert.
