Hmm.. I saw a question like this on the MEN ONLY forum about women so I wondered the same for us. What kind of men turn you off? I'll start: Loud, obnoxious men Men who cheat Those who don't care about their appearance. You don't have to be an Adonis, but at least care! Extremely overweight. I am no twig, but if you are obese, you don't care. If you have an eating problem, address it. I would like someone I could be healthy with. Arrogance Vulgar language Narcissistic Superficial Men who chase much younger women Those who claim to be Christian but don't walk the walk Excessive drinkers Smokers Judgemental I don't mind men who are divorced but the reason you are does matter to me. I don't mind men with children who were born within marriage. Out of wedlock? That depends..... That is a start.... Guess I am kind of picky.

LOL! I peeked in at the guys' thread (which I normally don't do) and I can't say I blame 'em. [:D] I'm a married gal, and I have a wonderful husband, but my husband and I just had this conversation the other night, when "The Bachelorette" was on TV. I told my husband I could never be attracted to the "types" that are chosen for those TV shows. My hubby said he wouldn't be attracted to the girl, either, for the same reasons. In general, things that I detest: --Superficiality --Arrogance/Narcissism --Shallowness (goes along with being superficial) --Overly-Obsessed with appearance (to the point that he tries to be prettier than his girl, LOL) --Irresponsibility/Laziness/Inconsiderate --Dishonesty [:'(][:'(][:'(] Doesn't matter how good-looking a guy supposedly is, all these things are ugly.

I really don't like men who swear, it turns me off completely. I always want to shout "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to swear in front of a LADY???" I try to refrain[8\|]

I wouldn't be attracted to a man who has an ultra-traditional view of gender roles, or one who viewed women as being less capable in any occupation that didn't involve pure, brute strength. My husband has always encouraged my dreams. He was both proud of me as an engineer and also supported my decision to stay home. He also doesn't mind pitching in with baby or home care; that's very attractive to me. [;)]

I can't draw any physical lines because even something like facial hair, which I really don't like, can actually work for some guys. The one single thing I'd have to say just leaves me unimpressed is a braggy guy - the kind who talk about what they have and how much they make and feel the need to puff themselves up. If it wasn't so annoying, it would be sad. My dd is going into 4th grade and actually has a little boy in her class that embodies exactly what I'm talking about (his dad's the same way) . . . I can't stand it!!!

Know-it-alls Men who cannot admit when they're wrong Men who cannot apologize Arrogant Smokers Alcohol abusers Porn users Potty mouths (the occasional slip is understandable; when it's frequent, it's a turn off) Neanderthals (He-men, men who put down women) Irresponsible Lazy, who do nothing to provide The ones who are always down and out (jobless, homeless, friendless, etc.) and blame everyone/everything but themselves for their situation, expecting others to come and rectify the situation Ones that are afraid of their own shadow; too afraid to take risks or make any moves for fear of what might happen (Proverbs 22:13) And what the other ladies said [;)]

This wasn't exactly a turnoff, but it did make me sad. There was a guy in our church who was only a year younger than me, and I thought he was kind of cool. Then he moved to another city, and married someone who was 13 years younger than me, and it was someone I used to babysit for..when I was 17, and she was 4, I certainly never imagined someone I had a crush on marrying her[:(].

arrogant self-centered men. men who are skinny. theres something about a skinny guy that makes me want to run in the other direction while pulling my hair out. no imagination or creativity in any areas. zero interest in staying healthy. like someone else said, men who claim to be christians but dont walk the walk.

Looks like most of us don't like arrogance and false bravado. Smokers can be friends but when I was dating, smoking was a deal breaker. perhaps those guys who keep starting the "why do gals like the bad guy" threads should be directed to this thread instead.

Lack of couth. He doesn't have to be debonair, merely understand that there is a time and place for everything. Burping loudly and laughing hysterically about it is not appropriate at my grandmothers funeral. You are more than welcome to do that when you and the guys watch sports together.

He was a year older than me but if at any time a twenty something would give him the time of day, I would get put to the back burner until they were done using him for what they could get. My exhusband also had an affair with a younger woman and ended her marriage and ours with it. (and it didn't even last) . Nope no respect for men like that. How low would I go? Probably early 30's. Although I married a man 4 years younger than me and the difference in maturity levels and priorities I noticed after being married a bit, was tremendous. But, the man I dated was a year older than me, and his maturity was pretty pathetic as well. I would have no desire for a 20 something, would not specifically look for a 20 something, to date. If one happened to come along that was what I was looking for, I probably would not let age deter me, but then again, I am pretty sure a 21 year old would not have what I was looking for. I feel that women look for security and maturity in a man, stability, whereas men (not all men mind you but the ones I have come across) are more interested in the ego stroking of what they have on their arm. And if she is a 20 something, well, isn't he just "the man" or so they think. Just my personal experience thus far. I would not go out looking for a much younger man, whereas I feel that a lot of men my age do do that.
