ladyichigo -> He Answered My Prayer Above and Beyond (7/14/2008 6:05:17 PM)

This may be a bit silly to some, but I really felt the need to share this little testimony of how God answers prayer. I went to take my Driver's Road Test on 7/11/08 at the DMV. This is my 2nd exam. The first one I failed because I drove like a casual driver, and was bit careless instead of textbook driving, which is what is required during the exam. A day before the exam, I drove around the area where the exam is to take place to get the hang of the roads there. I even practiced the dreaded parallel parking because I heard it was mandatory. Then the night before the exam, I earnestly prayed for the Lord give me peace during the exam. I asked Him help me keep calm, to help me focus and drive safely. I prayed and asked the Lord to help me be a blessing to the Examiner and to help me drive in a way that will make the Examiner feel safe. My exam was at 10 AM. We left the house at 8:40 AM so that I could practice some more around the area, and go over the things that were important like, stopping for pedestrians in the crosswalk, and stopping at the stop line for 3 seconds after a complete stop and just being overtly careful. We arrived back at the DMV at 9:30 and the Examiner called me around 9:35. He was an elderly, skinny Asian man, dressed a bit flamboyant, wearing a white shirt that had black panels on the front with white hibiscus flowers, sporting aviators, and skinny moustache…he looked like he came right out of a Disco club. He asked me if I had a license before as we walked to my car and I said, “Yes, in CA”. After showing him that the blinkers, windshield wipers and the brake lights worked, we sat in the car for a bit and seeing that I was nervous, he told to just relax and he explained what he would be looking for in the exam. From the start the, guy was really calm. I asked him some questions about certain situations, and he answered them, and he clarified some other situations that may come up. Through out the exam, he calmly spoke and basically walked me through the WHOLE thing, telling me when to stop, even helping me count after I had made the stop, telling me that there were no pedestrians, and just really making it so easy! I did not pray and ask to have a kind, and gentle examiner. I did not ask that I pass the test. I asked for peace, and for God to help me keep calm. The Lord answered my prayers, above and beyond what I had asked. I prayed that I would be a blessing to the Examiner, but he in turn was blessing to me because throughout the WHOLE exam, he guided me through it all. I cannot thank God enough for being such an awesome provider, and for keeping His promise of, "ask and you shall receive." Thank you Lord for your provision, for your promise, your goodness and your grace!! Thank you Lord for the examiner that tested me. Thank you!! Lord bless this man who was such a blessing to me.
