Spinning off the "Which Groups will Still be Here 20 Years from Now?" thread, which groups and individual singers (soloists) have retired (or gone home) in the last 20 years?

Of course, the first group I think of is The Cathedrals.

I'll add Jim Hamill as a soloist - I only saw him after he retired from the Kingsmen.

I think you mean Brock Speer...Brother Ben may be "dead tired" this week after two weeks of singing school, but he's still very much with us! :)

As far as singers that have gone home, i had a thread called Bass singers singing in the Heavenly choir, we had quite an extensive list of bass singers that have passed on. I'll have to try to find that one to add here, unless someone else can.

As far as groups that have retired over the past years:

Cathedrals, Carolina Boys, Hovie Lister and the Statesmen, The Speers, The Bishops, Singing Americans, ... oh so many, i can't think right now.

Another person that has come to my mind is Pop Lewis of the Lewis Family. He traveled for many years. Of course the Lewis Family continues to travel yet today with Pop's son & daughters.

Bobby, I see you listed the Perry Sisters. Are they singing again? They have a song on SG chart.

I think only one of them is singing with some other ladies. They were gonna still go by the Perry name. Could even the the daughter of one.

Santa, you got me wondering. The Perry Sisters retired in 1990.

Diana Perry has reorganized 'A New Season' The Perry Sisters. Diana's daughter Nicole Mathews and Diana's neice Tammy Underwood is singing with her now.
