We rented an Impala a few years ago for a trip, and it seemed like a very good car.

Hi Refiner's Fire. I have to disagree with you concerning this statement. I hate to be stereotypical, but fewer women are "into" cars the way men are. In fact, it is quite interesting that you anticipated that - and linked pictures in with your question so that we would be able to see the cars in caes we didn't know them. That fact alone should let you know that most women don't really care about cars all that much. I'm with many of the others that say - it should be safe, clean, operate well, and it shouldn't be the only thing he talks about/thinks about.

I have to agree. I'm not really into cars. I will admit that I'm impressed if the car looks expensive, but if not ... oh well. Most important is that it's roadworthy, clean and kept in good working condition.

Men are the ones who tie a lot of impression into their cars. They "pimp" it up with huge tires, mag rims, a good stereo system, expensive upholstery, etc. Then they sit back and ride all over the place to show off their ride and hope that they get noticed in it. That may work for some girls who are attention-getters, but not for me.

If he drives a Convertible (Mustang Convertible picture) then he.. must have read my mind ^_- although I perfer non-covertiable ones!
If he drives a truck (Dodge Ram picture) then he... hard working guy who lives in the south?

But I cannot afford a Mercedes-Benz S600, SL600, SLR, and a Bugatti Veyron. The price of those cars total $2.4 million. Let's see, what's would my monthly payments be... $40,577.31 over five years, and I would pay $304,638.60 interest. Hmmm.

Ok, I'll be serious now. I am praying over a newer car with a warranty. I am not trying to get a car to impress the ladies, but I just wondered what it would say about me.

Thank you for your replies. I have gained valuable information from this post. God bless.

Refiner,

Don't put a lot of pressure on yourself concerning getting the "right" car. Get something that you like, you can afford, and that is in good working order. Obviously a minivan says something different than a sportscar, but I think I can speak for a lot of women on this board in saying that the most important thing about a man is really his character. Women generally also like confidence (well - people - men and women like confidence) and respect - for yourself and for her as well. I hope you find a car that you like - end of year sales will be coming up pretty soon.

I was rented an Impala too. It was ok. I see a lot of older people driving them though so I did not consider buying it.

yea I could only image about the nightmare prices the bagatti would bring lol

Why don't you go test drive a bunch of different cars, and the one that feels right is the one you will buy.

I like cars but that doesnt define who you are... opions vary and even day to day... mood by mood... SO go test drive some get a feel of the car or truck or w.e. you buy.... and when you find right one you will know.

trust me thats good way to find new car!

Women care about what car a man drives? Some perhaps but not this one. All of the cars and trucks that you have chosen say the same thing to me:

"I am transportation from a to b. I am large and obnoxious, use great gobs of petrol and pollute the air more than I ought".

....except the bike....I have no idea what it's saying maybe "I want to go on holiday somewhere for a week or two, drink a few beers and pick up chicks". LOL Sorry...I just couldn't resist.

Oh O.K. I'll play you're little game...

a Corvette says different things depending upon which sex you are to men it says "Look at me boys" Envy me! I''ll race you to the end of the block...last one there is a dirty, rotten egg!" To women it says - actually I don't think I can say that here so I won't. Just stick with the reply for the men as cars really speak to them. Cars have not, as yet, to the best of my knowledge initiated a dialogue with women yet.

A BMW says "sit in here pal and you will have the warmest bottom in Canada/the US" "My other great feature is that all the whistles and buttons are in easy reach of you, the driver."

A Crown Victoria says "please drive me as slowly as possible on all highways as I tend to fall apart if driven otherwise. Ijust love annoying all the drivers behind me who wish to go at the lower end of the speed limit...I also hate taking turns quickly" "Slow downI said! You young whipper-snapper!" "Slow down already!"

A Mustang says "Ewwww I just love the wind in my hair - why not put on your sunglasses big boy and we'll go for a spin". Please note...the man who purchases this car requires no girlfriend.

The Dodge Ram truck says "I'm a BIG Truck. Get in here sonny and you and I will rule the world!" "or at least dominate the entire north american highway system...." "We'll run over all those little cars so that we can go about our business OUR WAY!"

The Yukon says "While I supposedly was built to go off-roading, you and I both know that I am really here to make driving into the blood-sport it was meant to be!" "Go get your ladder and climb up in here and you will be the tallest man on earth!" "By the way, I love to suck gas and spout great amounts of garbage into the air" "Are you in there now little fella? "Let's head to the gas station!"

The Yamaha says in a little squeaky voice "Err, vroom, vroom." "Err, vroom! vroom!" If it had the courage...it would tell you that it is no match for a Harley....but it isn't and it doesn't and it hasn't!

Yours for letting each car have it's say,

Sudden

Here is a question I cannot put off. It came to mind because I am in the market for a newer car. I know car matters for women. Every car means something. I would like to find out what a car says about a man. Please fill in the blanks. I have included pictures to help you with answers.
So, here it goes:

If he drives a Corvette (Corvette picture) then he...
If he drives a BMW (BMW 380i picture) then he...
If he drives a Crown Victoria (Crown Victoria picture) then he...
If he drives a Convertible (Mustang Convertible picture) then he...
If he drives a truck (Dodge Ram picture) then he...
If he drives an SUV (GMC Yukon picture) then he...
If he drives a motorbike (Yamaha Thundercat picture) then he...

I decided to post first and read the other responses afterwards, so I wouldn't be influenced by other's opinions.

First I want to say that I really don't notice what other people drive. I'm assuming you're a single guy and wondering how it will potential dates will percieve you. When I first met my husband, he was driving an old blue Chevette and I was head over heels in love.

My husband knows what people drive before he can remember their name. I still probably couldn't tell you what most of the people in our church drive and we've been here nearly half a year, and it's a small church. What a person drives really does not matter to me, but I'll do my best to give you first impressions. Thanks for the pictures--that really helps.

Corvette--wow, that's a pretty car! Very sporty and fast looking. I'm guessing either a young guy drives it, or something going through a mid-life crises, or someone who likes to drive fast and has a lot of money. Maybe a bit on the wild side?

The BMW--I know those cars aren't cheap. Must be a middle-aged executive type. A lawyer, maybe?

The Crown Victoria looks like something a senior citizen would drive.

I like the Mustang convertable. That looks like fun. Although I generally don't like my hair blowing in my face, so I'd hope my date wouldn't drive with the top down all the time.

Truck--Alpha male type. Gotta have a truck if you're a real man, you know. You might want to haul something sometime. Some men I know are a little too attached to their trucks, though.

SUV--Is there a reason a single guy would have an SUV? I would probably wonder what he was thinking.

Motorbike--I would wonder what kind of a background you came from, and if you got saved from a life of drugs and booze.

I hope that helps!

Hmm..

I kind of go for a guy who drives a nice clean truck.
Mustang? Maybe.....

SUV, ok.

It is not a deal breaker if a guy drives something other than the above, but if he does, it says to me that he can afford to drive that and he cares about what he is driving. If he drives something old and beat up it tells me he either cannot afford anything other than that or that he is cheap.

Just my humble two cents worth.

hehe

If he drives a BMW (BMW 380i picture) then he...probably where's a suit to work
If he drives a Crown Victoria (Crown Victoria picture) then he...is probably retired and spends his time golfing
If he drives a Convertible (Mustang Convertible picture) then he...is not worried about losing his hair
If he drives a truck (Dodge Ram picture) then he...a manly man - has a dog and a boat
If he drives an SUV (GMC Yukon picture) then he...has just gotten married, traded in the truck, and made room for the family
If he drives a motorbike (Yamaha Thundercat picture) then he...likes to get away on his own from time to time.

I don't want to sound like I'm stereo-typing...this just reflect the men in my life and where they are in their vehicle choices.

When I first met my dh (kind of a blind date), he showed up in his 10 year old truck with his dog in the back. I new he also had a nice BMW (he mostly used it for work, when traveling with clients). I was proud of him for showing up in his truck and not trying to impress me with his car. It made me even more attracted to him.

Ticked me off?!?

I am at a loss to understand how what I fully intended to be humourous could be mistaken for anger. I don't know what you said you were wrong about.

Full apologies for whatever it was that made you feel that way.

Hugs,

Sudden

we gals are not all that easily offended... except that someone was talking up a Harley, big old noisy bikes! The Harley drivers were gathered at the local pub last night, all in leather and bandanas slurping on their Budwisers trying to look tougher than each other. The bikes sat quietly not saying a word.

All the cool people drive Honda GoldWings.... and stop at the best restaurants...

A guy's car doesn't tell me much about him, though how he takes care of it might (and if he went into debt up to his ears to get it certainly does).

As a matter of fact - as much as I love Corvettes and hope to have one of my own someday ... I'm wary of guys who drive them.

To me, a guy should drive something he can afford and maintain, something he knows a little about, and the suits his purposes. If he lives in an apartment and works a desk job, an F250 SuperDuty just doesn't make sense.

And driving a Corvette he knows nothing about and can't control, but that he thought would impress women, is no better.

Actually, right now I'd be much more interested in if he has a big horsetrailer. I've already got the truck, so we could share mine, but my horsetrailer is too small for all the horses and the livingquarters leak...so he's gotta have a nice horsetrailer with livingquarters so that we can go camping in style with the horses...(or have a place to stay with the horses when we evacuate because of a hurricane)

I don't think I've ever paid much attention to the car a man drives...unless its a bucket of rust spewing black smoke and backfiring every few miles...then I'd figure he's a lazy bum and stay away. The first man I dated in college didn't even own a car.
