GothicXian: I think that there are two separate issues; one, the truths expresses by lyrics, and the Bible which in some measure inspires them; two: the fact that some ppl dont empathize with the outward style of black clothes, thick mascara and male earrings. In the minds of some ppl, the two come together, in the minds of others they don't. Take care.

GothX: So what I mean is, don't be surprised if two different sets of people respond in a widely different way, right? (I was never into the Gothic stuff, I did wear earrings at one time, do you? but I never wore mascara, do you?) Take care. quote:

I wear a light amount of eyeliner at times to make my eyes (when I'm in the shade or in a darkend area) appear darker (I do it solely because I think its neat and for the sometimes dramatic effect lol) I also sometimes wear black nail polish if I'm feeling "bad" LOL. I can't ever take myself too seriously if I did; it wouldn't be fun anymore :P

Well let's see I was about hmm 16 when I got my left earlobe pierced then when I was 18 I got the otherside done and I'm now 20; as for what my mom had to say, she was slightly up in arms about it all but overtime has found that I look quite nice in all black and that I don't do anything outlandish (like wear baggy mondo cargo pants by Tripp, a clothing company too inline with the mainstream to be worn by anyone in the goth scene, plus they make their products rather cheaply in the first place; its what many people think of now when they think of goth kids.) I find them too impratical and silly to be worn (I do have a pair of zpper pants I wear from time to time but overall I wear just regular black jeans and either a t-shirt or thermal shirt. I also wear combat boots.

GothX: So you now have one in each ear, then? that's the way it's going for more and more guys, right? to have both ears pierced. So your mom has gotten used to your Goth style, then, and by the way you speak she likes it now (or almost...). Take care. quote:

Some young men do like to wear eyeliner, anyway, and maybe a bit of mascara. Personally Im not enthusiastic about it.

ORIGINAL: GothicXian And yet you read no lyrics from them; let me post a few lyrics from some Christian bands you could fit under gothic rock or metal and black metal: Sure some of these are rather dark lyrics but not without the hope or love of God. You can disagree with me if yo wish. the lyrics you posted are not so bad.. but the music that accompanies it often is the problem.

Without the lyrics, the music is just...music. GothicXian...I admire your efforts, but I fear they are for nothing.
