have any of you all ever made "rice krispie treats" with any other cereal? I realllllllllllllllly like them with fruity pebbles. Or cocoa krispies or pebbles... or something 'flavored'. =)

Yep...and I've made them with the flavored marshmallows, too. Good spin on an old favorite. Have you had scotch-a-roos? Oh my...they are so good. I usually only make them at Christmastime, but I could go for some now. rice krispies - peanut butter - chocolate chips - butterscotch chips are the basic flavors

The fried bread thingy we we posting about reminded me of a buffet-style restaurant we used in have in my home town. They would take the leftover yeast rolls from the day before (already baked but not used), cut them into quarters, throw them in the deep fryer for a few minutes, then roll in cinnamon and sugar. I was eating one once & I realized that underneath the cinnamon and sugar was a disctinct piece of yeast roll. So this wasn't just fried bread, it was refried bread. All the bad stuff in one-bread, grease, and sugar. Yummm, yummm!

While you get a ton of sugar and fat from the butter, you at least get some nutrients too. And they were good.
