SIL is back from her trip on a Greenpeace boat. We're heading over there in a few minutes for lunch. It's so hot down there. I don't really want to go but her car's not working. She probably didn't think to have someone take care of it for her...start it every few days, etc. So we get to spend the afternoon in their sweltering house. It will be as short a visit as I can possibly make it. Besides with M's tummy troubles the last few days (part of which started due to a hot drive from Harisa) I need to keep it fairly short anyway.

Tomorrow I start packing. I'll pack all the clothes at least and movies, books, etc. that we're taking back with us. Tomorrow will be for the toiletries and dirty laundry. Last minute things we remember.

I got DH a DVD of Fayrouz in concert in Dubai. She's a famous Lebanese singer and he has several of her tapes and CDs. I thought he'd like this surprise. She's called "Lebanon's ambassador to the stars".

Well, I guess I'd better get ready to head out. Delaying only puts off the heat...it doesn't avoid it. LOL

Have a nice day, ladies.

I am tired/lazy atm and I should get some stuff done around the house lol My sweetie called me early this morning to tell me that he had seen this car wrecked on his way to work and he stopped to see if anyone was in car but it was dark and he didnt see anyone or hear anyone when he called out to them, he called the police to report it.. But havent heard anything about the wreck so it may have been someone who ran away from scene because they were either illegal or wanted?
It has been raining all week, and we need it badly but when its pouring and you cant see road to drive in... kinda bites :/

Wow, my son is 5 and I couldn't imagine letting him walk home from the bus stop yet (even if it is just outside our house). It would be way too far from his school. I guess each parent knows their child's abilities.

Here for our kinder/1st...it's required that a parent or sibling 2nd grade or older greet the child at the bus stop (or get off with him/her)...otherwise s/he cannot get off the bus.

Hi, ladies.

My dad had surgery a few weeks ago to remove a polyp (and a foot of colon). The polyp was cancer but they got it all so no chemo. He's still in the hospital and on a liquid diet because he just can't shake the nausea. The other day Mom fell in his room and broke her femur. She had surgery and has a plate from above her knee (which was replaced a couple of years ago) to almost her hip. Six weeks of no weight and 6 months to heal. At this rate they'll still be in the hospital when DH goes there for HIS surgery.

I've got the clothes all packed. Now I just have to pack the movies, books, etc. Some will wait til morning. This time tomorrow we'll be waiting for our neighbor to pick us up. We're looking forward to seeing DH again and the kids are missing Elektra.

Have a nice day, ladies.

We're spring cleaning childrens' bedrooms today. X's is nearly at the able to clean furniture stage. J's still looks like the afteraffects of a tornado.

Yay Faith!

Been shifting boxes of books and stocking my bookshelf with mine. John's still sorting through some of his, so I brought them in from where they were sitting as yesterday we had some storms. Where he housed them before, leaks. Don't want his books getting all wet.

DOF (Megan right?) - Reading your reports about your son reminds me of our son. When we moved here we moved in Feb during the middle of the school year. And I had moved by myself with the kids while Ryan stayed in Orlando. Zachary had to jump into a new school in a new town, and the curriculum (sp) was doubled to what he was used to. He would litteraly curl up in the fetal position and cry during class. He was so used to having Ryan home as the primary care giver to suddenly only me in a new school. The poor kid. Have patience; there is a lot going on for him. My prayers are with you.

Yep, Nicole...I'm Megan We've pretty well decided to give our son some more time to adjust to EVERYTHING. He's had SO many adjustments (moving to a new town, new house, new church, new friends, new school, etc.) not to mention that he is now has NO NAP throughout the day! Thanks for your prayers, Nicole. They're definitely needed. I've been thinking & wondering about you, DH, and your restaurant. Are the servers catching on better now? I know you had mentioned the one young man would probably take a little while longer, so I really do hope he's doing well now!

Spring cleaning, Kylie, yikes! I really dislike that tornado stage, but you know you've accomplished something...so good going!

Yay, Jennifer, on being almost done with work! You should be DONE by now. WooHoo! And then you have a long weekend, right? Do you work M-F as a postie? I know you usually do Saturdays, but I was trying to remember.

Trish, no, we wouldn't want books getting wet. We had that happen at our last house. Our washer flooded the garage (our storage area) because of faulty plumbing in the house. We were NOT happy in the least, probably lost at least $1000 of property (mostly books, clothing, videos, etc.) Let's just say we were very thankful to be move out of that rental.

Today I slept in! It was after 9 AM before I got up to stay up! DH was keeping a little boy company, so it was nice to catch up on my sleep. I must have really needed it to sleep THAT late. It's Labor Day weekend here in the states so I plan to just relax.

As for Beth (crimson), I've talked with her some & I think she's just really busy with beginning a new school year. From another teacher's viewpoint, it's just crazy this time of year. Beth (Thursday), would you agree?

Tried a new antidepressant last night. The lowest dose. It resulted in me sleeping pretty much the whole of night. Won't be doing that again in a hurry.

I there a reason you don't want to sleep the whole night? Do you not feel better with 8 hours of sleep?

Sorry, I should have rephrased that. Yes, I do want to sleep through the whole night. It was the rest of the time that I wasn't expecting. I slept through the night, woke up for an hour feeling extremely hung over, did a couple of things, went back to bed until 3.30pm still feeling hung over. Feel asleep again just after 5.30pm until 7.50pm. Had dinner and did a few things. Still had an early night, despite the amount of sleep I had and no more of that antidepressant. It's the lowest dosage, and I did nothing but sleep! Sleep is GOOD, but I just wasn't expecting to be affected that much!

Sounds like you need a different antidepressant, Trish. I would ask your doctor next week!

Wow that is a lot of sleep. But is it possible that if you continue with it that your body will become adjusted to it and then you will lose the hung over feeling and have more normal sleep patterns? Maybe it would be wise to ask the doctor about it before you stop taking it.

Gonna post really quick. I usually just get on a read after work.

The restaurant is going really well. The servers are doing well. The young gentleman is taking a little longer to catch on. I HAVE to do my books on Monday. I actually find it very very hard to not do office work on Sundays. I must have at least one day of rest. Anyway, we are having SO MUCH FUN!!!

Nicole, I'm so glad everything's going so well at the restaurant.

Yeah, I thought it was excessive. He said it would help with sleep, but I didn't think it would make me sleep THAT much! I'm on 10mg, and he said next time he'd put me on 25mg. If that happens, I'm going to be worse than a zombie! I'm zombie like now! Friday night was the first night I took it. I didn't take it last night. I'm thinking about taking it every 2 nights and see how I go. If it keeps happening, then I'm just going to have to come off of it.

Could it be that your body is just making up for the sleep deprivation it's had and that it will settle out after your body's actually caught up with itself?

I didn't get much done with my spring cleaning plans. Dh invited friends over and I had to put the house back together before I'd finished with the cleaning.

That is what I was thinking also.

RIR ~ glad to hear your restaurant is going well!
