Well, I've never been referred to as 'hubby' (and probably not many of the women here have either). But I don't call my husband that. We're not the nickname type though. No 'honeys' 'dears' 'babes.' The closest we get is 'my love.'

I think we had a thread here about that not too long ago, and I was surprised at how many people disliked the term. I use the term all the time for my hubby, and it's meant as an endearment...I think it has a huggable sound. If he had a problem with it, I'd stop, but he likes it, which is all that matters.

I do not personally believe that this word is huggable or even cute.

That's fine. You don't have to use it. But, since I'm not calling your husband that, what I call mine shouldn't really matter to you if he doesn't mind.

I use it mostly because I type slowly and it's faster than saying my husband. My husband doesn't mind that I refer to him like that although in real life he is sweetie or honey. He is only hubby on Crosswalk.

I say "hubby" just joking around. But when I get married, I'll just call him husband. hah.

I have a thing about using people's names. So, most likely, I'll use my future husband's name instead of "hubby".

ORIGINAL: beachcooky I say "hubby" just joking around. But when I get married, I'll just call him husband. hah. I read that as you'd say to him, "Husbaaaaaaaaaaaand, dinner's ready!" LOL I use the word hubby all the time on the net because I don't like to use DH and it's faster to type than Husband. I call him Baby IRL though.

I use hubby and dh, it is just faster than typing the whole word. At home he is "hon" or "Daddy". He calls me "hon bun". I don't think he cares too much what I call him, just as long as its respectfully done.

Could be worse. My Korean national friend's term of endearment for husband sounds something like "guh guh". I always thought "hubby" was a cross between "husband" and "hubbah hubbah", which should be at least a little bit complementary. ;)
