Not long ago, someone posted a map that showed the population of men and women in the US. It had red and blue dots reminiscent of the election maps. Does anyone remember that?

I happened to find it this morning: HERE IT IS.

That's it that is exactly what I was thinking of. Thanks G&M.
Here is what I am wondering. Is that big blue dot in Phoenix smack dab on top of the orange dot that represents the number of single women? LOL.
Also, right above it there is a fairly large blue dot on Flagstaff. Flagstaff is pretty small, but a little more than half the year there are lots of singles, at the college, NAU. College populations can definately scue the results.

Good grief HERE is the info on Fort Wayne
Goodness gracious Trainfan you had to go and post the Fort Wayne information and now I have to go find out why Fort Wayne, though second in population, is as a metropolitan area...........Where is second for goodness sake?????

Gary as in the city is very small population wise.......the surrounding area is quite populated.........so I am guessing one of the cities over there.....like Hammond is probably the second largest metropolitan area...........

Michigan has Detroit which is the 11th largest in the U.S. but one of the fastest shrinking also. Maybe since their joke of a mayor has resigned and is going to jail it will at least stop shrinking.

Hammond is the sixth city listed Lisa.......that does not make it small LOL..........and I was talking about the area......all those cities, Hammond, merryville, Gary they all touch and run together so as a metropolitan area if you include every city which blend into each other they are quite big compared to where I live where cities don't blend or even touch as much being separated by corn fields.

Though I am curious how this discussion works with the OP LOL

Or you could just invite me to visit your store and go for tea the next time I am up there .........

It would help if I knew you were passing through.

BTW I heard there are 2 people on here from Grand Rapids now.

It makes it small to me! Look at the numbers - and then look at the numbers listed for my city now.....huge difference.

I'm used to large cities.....

It pertains to the OP because the larger the city - the more there is to do for singles!

Well if you're passing through PM me I can see what would work out.

Yes that is what I heard from someone, that the blue eyed nurse is from this area.

Is your state single friendly?

I'm not sure I get along here fine.

quote:

Are singles common or rare?

Singles as a whole may be common but Christian ones not so much at least in the area where I live. I think people at least in this area get married younger.

quote:

In your estimate what is the avg age of singles available for dating?

Not sure of an average age but I would say from my observation 22-25 is the most common.

quote:

Are single activities available?

It depends what activities you are looking for, church activity wise I would say not many. If you like the bar and nightclub scene (which I don't) there seems to be lots of those.

quote:

Is it easy to meet people of the opposite sex?

Once again it depends what type of person you are looking for I'm sure it wouldn't be hard in the bar scene but as far as churches are concerned..yes they are very focused on couples and families here.

From what some other people have posted, yes.

quote:

Have you considered relocating to another state?

For the reaason of lack of singles here, no.

quote:

Are there any available men/women in your state?

There are a few my age but they seem to be somewhat hard to find.

Is your state single friendly?
I would guess you could say Missouri is single friendly!

Are singles common or rare?
Among my friends, pretty common. The state as a whole...I'm not to sure!
In your estimate what is the avg age of singles available for dating?

Are single activities available?
Yeah, our church actually just went on a singles trip a few months ago to see the Royals' play and go to World's of Fun! So much fun!!

Is it easy to meet people of the opposite sex?
Yeah, I seem to meet guys everywhere, just haven't found one I would want to spend forever with yet!! LOL!!

Does the grass appear greener on the other side of the fence?
Sometimes, yeah I would have to say it does.

Have you considered relocating to another state?
No, way!!! I love where I live, wouldn't trade it for anywhere else, unless God told me I had to!

Are there any available men/women in your state?
Considering most of my friends are single, yeah! People that can put up with crazy me, well... let's just say they are a little bit harder to find!(I can be kind of random... )

I know! I love going to the park!! The best thing ever is to go to on a picnic and then go for a walk...I'm thinking that would be a pretty awesome date. But, then again, I'm pretty easy to please as long as the guy is a gentlman and an on-fire christian!

I'm at work <yawning> and have a few minutes so I thought I'd throw in my two cents about singlehood in the great state of Michigan.

Is your state single friendly?
--I think so. The cost of living is reasonable so it's not too difficult to live on one middle class income.

Are singles common or rare?
--Within the church I would say rare. Outside probably more common. Why does it seem that Christians follow that marriage and kid track so much sooner than non-Christians?

In your estimate what is the avg age of singles available for dating?
--20's

Are single activities available?
--Depends where you look. There are very few single people in my church so we don't have a single's ministry. I'm sure if I did some looking I could find something.

Is it easy to meet people of the opposite sex?
--For me I meet a lot of people at work, but for the most part they are not the type I'd be interested in dating.

Does the grass appear greener on the other side of the fence?
--No.

Have you considered relocating to another state?
--Nope. I'm good here. I trust God has a plan for me.

Are there any available men/women in your state?
--I sure hope so! (on the men part that is. . .)
