Tell her to put a cork in it. She's already annoyed with you, what do you have to lose?

Some people just are not happy unless they have something to complain about. Oxy-moron eh? I know many people like this...I just choose not to join into the negative mentality. I say "Que Sera, Sera".

I believe that was a general expression of frustration at the state of the work environment when people are more concerned about their appearence or self-promotion at the expense of the day-to-day work of the employer. A situation that many of us have seen to varying degrees of intensity with our own reactions dictated by our personal work habits, satisfaction and security.

But, I could be reading into the post.

I'm sorry you have to listen to your coworker being a pain in the patoot. She must be one unhappy person.

On a serious note, if y'all could keep a friend of mine and her family in prayer. She had open heart surgery two years ago around Christmas, and it was just discovered yesterday that she has a leaky valve. She's currently in surgery to have it replaced and we won't know anything until 8pm or so tonight as it's a very long surgery.

Please pray she comes through this better than ever, and pray that her husband and two girls do well, too. Her older daughter is 13, the younger is around 5 years old. Our church family will be supporting them, so that's not going to be a problem.

Her name is Tanya, her husband and kids are Dan, Alyssa and Chloe.

Thanks for the prayers :)

I was just about to post the video for that song, but I will pass for now.

C. J. Mahaney, along with Larry Christenson and Larry Tomczak, helped found People of Destiny Ministries, which later evolved into Sovereign Grace Ministries and the Sovereign Grace-affiliated churches. C. J. was also ended up being the spiritual mentor for Joshua Harris, who took C. J.'s place as Senior Pastor at Covenant Life Church - the "mother church" of the Sovereign Grace group.

Yes, but didn't they used to be known as PDI churches? To be truthful, I have had certain issues with that groups teachings.

Hiya Hot-N-Saucy!

I've worked for the government before. No politics there.

Only one non-compliant person showed up at the potluck. She was unaware of the controversy. I guess all the complaining was for nuthin. It was a good time. Someone brought in the bestest pumpkin pie; i.e., lots of spices. I had to suffer with Cool Whip, but it was still good.

A few pages back someone had a funny link with a wedge of pumpkin pie and the little blurb saying "someone put vegetables in my piiiieeeee" ... I told the munchkin about it and we have been giggling ever since. "Mom, let's have some of that piiiiieeee with vegetables."

I had the munchkin at the doctor earlier this week (the strep test came back negative) ... he is officially 2 inches taller than me. You should have heard the laugh that came out of that boy's mouth!

This sounds backwards to me. I hate pumpkin pie, but I love Cool Whip.

Ooh, I remember that day! We were standing in line for communion and I said to my mother "Hey Ma, I can see over your head!" She lost it right there, in a church where laughter was not allowed (80 year old Irish Catholic pastor in the 60's).

Cool Whip should be against the law. I don't think there's a natural ingredient in the whole tub. It's just plain nasty!

Okay, here's the petty facts: Today we are having a potluck. Some of us slaved in the kitchen, some brought in store-bought stuff, some didn't. That's the way it goes. So, an email went around to all staff inviting everyone, even if you didn't bring something in, saying just contribute some $$ for the families we sponsor over the holidays.

Well, someone decided she didn't like this. Not at all. I was the first victim of the complaints since I sit the closest. Lucky me. I tell her it doesn't matter to me if people made or bought something, or didn't, I am just contributing to the festivities in the office and the more the merrier. She didn't like my answer ... well, to be more specific, she didn't like the fact that I wasn't agreeing with her ... and proceeded around the office loudly complaining.

I asked her: If I dropped my crockpot on the way in, you think I shouldn't be able to participate? (sidebar: I worked out last night and have the rubber arm syndrome going on..... but I still managed to make my requested dish and carry the heavy thing in)

Her answer: If that happened, then no, you shouldn't participate.

Did I mention she was annoyed with me?

Not sure if she found anyone to agree with her, but she's still making her rounds.

Don't pick on Cool Whip! It's not down the center isles of the grocery stores, so it must be good for you.

Hi guys. Sorry to pop in with another prayer request, but it's important. We just got news this morning that Andrew's mom was admitted to the hospital last night for observation due to unexplained chest pains. The doctors don't yet know what the cause is. Please pray for Andrew's mom Margie and her husband Brad. Thanks.

Also, for the prayer request I posted the other day for my friend Tanya, she came through about a 10-11 hour open heart surgery just fine, and the doctors found a lot more wrong with her heart than just a leaky heart valve. They were able to take care of all the problems they found and the last I heard Tanya is doing as well as can be expected after such a long, intense and high-risk surgery. Thanks for those prayers.
