I wonder which team will show up tonight. It's about 10 minutes until the first pitch at the Tigers/Astros game. Hopefully they can get a new win streak started. I do rather enjoy watching the Tigers' pitchers bat in N.L parks. There seems to be a lot more strategy with the N.L rules. Yes there is definitely more strategy involved in NL game style. It makes it more interesting, though when playing a Tony Larussa managed team, it can get very tedious. In my opinion, the DH should be all or nothing. Either give it to the NL, or take it from the AL, preferably the latter.

It wasn't in the original rules, it shouldn't be in there now. I've hated it since the first at bat. But, to borrow from Dennis Miller, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. BTW, the AA Mets showed up tonight. One hit through 8 innings. That's why I'm here. I know, I am watching it.....being tortured by it right now. It is sad. Though we did just face 2 of the best pitchers in the game, and tonight faced Burnett, who at times is right up there, I am happy coming away with 1 win in the 3 games. It would have been a lot to ask with a healthy lineup to take 2 of 3 or win all 3 of these games.

LOL! I think you're probably right. Since I moved back to IN and don't have cable or satellite, I can't even watch them on TV anymore.

Does anyone think there is a better hitter than Joe Mauer?

Catching 135+ games a year will take care of that in a couple of seasons. Ask Mike Piazza. But right now he's one of the best. Albert Pujols might have something to say about who's the best with his .336, 30hr, 82 rbi first half. Those are some pretty sick numbers for 80 games.

Fun post to read. Regarding Mauer, I enjoyed seeing him play during the All Star game. He also appears to be great person off the field. I'm just curious if his hands and knees can take the pounding he receives every night and continues to hit the way he does. As a diehard Cardinals fan, I might throw my vote toward Pujols being the top hitter in the game (but yes, I'm biased). I only follow the NL, so my picks are: East - Phils Central - ??? West - Dodgers Wildcard - Giants Sorry Dodgers and Phillies fans. If the Giants make it to the post season, their pitching could take them far. The Lincecum/Cain combo reminds me a little of the Johnson/Schilling one-two punch of the Diamondbacks a few years back. I sat two rows behind home plate in KC when the played the ChiSox a couple weeks ago. Jermaine Dye--fun to watch, great athlete, and made tough catches look easy. Thome is a rock. Jenks--impressive and nasty speed. The Royals--I'm still missing Brett, White, Saberhagen, and the others (giving away my age).

I think if the Twins were in the NL, they would make it to the World Series every other year.

Yeah, hold onto that dream dude. Three straight wins for the Mutts. Have they suddenly discovered how to play the game?

Going to see Braves-Dodgers for Sunday Night Baseball. Pretty pumped. Never been to a SNB or FOX game. Looking forward to hollering some steroid related remark at Manny.
