It seems that anyone who had a kid playing football (and had I known this, MC would have played the flute instead of football) is put on the concession stand schedule and then told when to show up. I love a dictatorship.
I was gone to MS when our call came for concession stand duty so hubby had the honors. We have had 4 kids in sports.

How exciting, Gary! So this is new construction? When will it be built? I apologize if you've said before and I missed it.

There is currently a old trailer house on the site. We are buying a modular unit that we will put next to the existing trailer. Eventually we will build a connecting room between and two and rebuild the old trailer.

Good Morning!

Great news on the house, Gary. You've got a busy month!

It is another beautiful day here. Did I tell y'all that I got to church yesterday? I love it when that happens.

Expecting our first hurricane impact (or what's left of one) in November is strange.

As a transplanted Yankee, I am grateful that this has been a quite hurricane season thus far.

Oh I know.

I'm not too worried though; should be a TS by the time it hits land. *shrug* but I have Armydude on standby just in case.

(he's my emergency CW contact...LOL)

I haven't mentioned that my Smoky Watson has gone blind.

He is 14+ years old and is the sweetest kitty you can imagine. He has put up with many hardships with a good disposition and is adjusting.

Apparently his retinas suddenly became unattached. There was no blow or trauma that we know of. His blood tests were normal. Our vet called an opthamologist vet at UT, who said that 99% of the time cats with detached retinas have high blood pressure. We have him on blood pressure medicine and are hoping that he can recover some of his sight.

I find THIS very disturbing.

I'll bet when my computer was hacked and I was being stalked it was someone so creepy as this. I'm tellin' ya, someone who'll go to the trouble to hack into a person's computer to watch their every move online is dangerous.

That is extremely disturbing, Mac. A person's life could very easily be ruined. Frightening.

Oh, and I agree that someone who would hack into someone's computer to watch them is dangerous. No question.

Awww! Poor guy! I hope all goes well! Give him some neck scratches for me (or whatever he loves... I don't want Mr Watson to attack you on my behalf... ).

He does remarkably well, considering that it has only been a few days. I try to keep things in the same place, particularly a chair at the desk by our bed. He steps to the desk from our bed, then a short jump down to the chair, then to the floor. I have guided him to the chair a few times and now he does it on his own.

He always finds his food dish.

I wil let him sit on your chest at 3:30 a.m., purring like an outboard motor.

Poor Smoky Watson. I hope the blood pressure medication helps him. I assume he's not in any pain. Detached retinas sounds awful. I wonder if the other cats will change their behavior to help him navigate and find things. It wouldn't surprise me.

I forgot to tell y'all that I had a very humbling experience on Sunday. I have this customer who, for various reasons, drives me straight up the wall. A mere 2 or 3 minutes of trying to deal with her is so exasperating that I've started hiding when I see her coming.

Guess who I saw at church this week?

My ex-dog Taffy had a detached lens, which I suppose is the same thing. They eventually removed the eye, but she did well. Eventually she lost sight in the other eye, but she still did well. She knew the house, and the other dog helped her.

The customer that makes me insane!

I had to adjust my attitude toward her and repent of being such a snot.

Which, of course, I shouldn't have been doing in the first place.

I firmly believe "snot repentence" should be banned from the Den. If a Denzien was a "snot" there was a darn good reason for it - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
