No one said this but you.

But for the man looking for a woman who may be a fit for him, the odds are very great that any woman wearing a ring is taken. He would be almost committing adultery to approach her.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Apparently I'm a part of some big vast conspiracy and I didn't know it.

And apparently all the posts I've been responding to don't really exist.

And apparently the ONLY reason for this thread and accusing people of all kinds of nasty things is that so women will know they might be asked for less dates if they wear a ring on their left finger.

I would just like to ask anyone who is coming in late to read the ENTIRE thread and see for themselves what has really been said.

As far as a few of you (not all, as some who I have disagreed with seem to have honor), I have zero respect for those who make digs and slams and won't even own up to it. That is cowardly and un-manly.

So, go ahead and continue to quote me out of context, lie about what I am saying, lie about what has been said, draw conclusions from my posts that were never written and accuse me of all kinds of bizarre garbage. Continue to berate my friends and say hurtful things and continue to ride your high horses.

I will be held accountable for what I say and so will you.

I am not trying to speak for John O but I think the word almost makes all the difference.........you are, and in the brinks, implies it is or is about to happen..........where almost means very short of....meaning it did not happen but could have.

Make sense?

...um, this pretty much applies to any situation where there is intent to deceive. The intent makes it a heart issue, and has little to do with the ring.

If a woman *knows* a man will assume she is unavailable because she wears a ring on her left ring finger - and - that's her whole purpose in wearing it then, yeah, she's trying to deceive, because that's her intent. But if a woman is just wearing a ring to wear a ring, please don't place responsibility on her for anyone's misconception of what the ring may or may not mean.

Since I'm not clairvoyant I really have no idea what men who may notice my ring finger may assume. I can assume some what some will assume, but that would just be an assumption. But I happen to believe my marital status really isn't some stranger's business anyway... neither is the reason I choose to wear a ring or not wear a ring.

Somehow, though, through the magic of communication most people know I'm single.

EXACTLY! I think we need to be very careful about assuming people's motivations. There are MANY reasons for women to wear (or not wear) a ring on her LHRF. And those reasons are between her and her alone. If you don't like that, get over it.
