Tawny Frogmouth - that's it.

I didn't get what I wish I had gotten from the visit. I didn't learn anything. If Poppa had been with us, we would have needed to read every line on every card and then find every fish, frog and flying thing in each display. She would have been bored but I would have learned. This way - we oohed and aahed, she stayed as long as she wanted and there was no "I'm bored"

I told him last night, I'd like to come back and do it all over again.

No squab - she is still scowling at me over that... She wants a duck that never grows up (so it can stay in her aunts pond, eating algae), pigeons, doves, a dodo bird and a carrier pigeon.

Off to get up and going. Last day.

Oh, I killed Michael Jackson. I opened the news yesterday, saw about Farrah Fawcett, and commented to DeeDee about 'these things come in threes' and wondered if it would work that way this time. I checked here and email and such and then went back to the news and saw they were rushing him to the hospital. Now, I'm not superstitious, but we have fun with these things so I jokingly told BigBee that I was responsible and when he started getting mouthy, I threatened to take out one of his favorites next. Which was just enough to make him laugh and keep him from getting into real trouble with his Momma. That line may last me the whole summer.

Yeah, Garsy (and Brian)!! Great news!

Kylie, I hope X's ankle gets better, and that J's headaches will, too. How long has he had them? I remember you talking about certain foods and changing his diet and a prior visit to the neurologist. Man, that must be tough on him.

Mbee, shame on you. Don't take out anybody else this week.

J has been getting headaches for over two years now. It's almost gotten to the point that headaches are 'normal' around here.

Holidays!!!

We had two very giggly girls here last night. I really don't know what time they stopped reading the book they were reading together. I do know that they were at least being quiet so I could sleep. X is heading over to her friend's house tonight so the other set of parents can suffer too.

X's ankle is already fine. Funnily enough, the friend who is visiting has her leg in a boot right now because of an injury she received two days before the cast was meant to come off her arm.

J's trying to organise laser skirmish with his friends as the youth group is having a guys only day Wednesday week.

MBee, they played Thriller five times on the radio yesterday. I never liked it when it was out the first time. God, please save me from nostalgia. Because it was the work radio I couldn't even go and turn it off.

Kylie

We just got back from vacation a couple of hours ago; I will have to see what happened to Michael Jackson.

MBee, it is hard for me to go to museums and such with hubby. He wants to look at, study, and take pictures of everything.

Garsy, yay for your good news!

Kylie, I'm sorry to hear about the headaches.

Our libary has a book called Diary of a Wombat. My 14yo loves that book so we check it out sometimes for her to read to R. It is a very fun book.

I liked MJ's music in the 80's, but I wonder if I liked it, or I knew it. Loved Vincent Price in Thriller...Although, they played a song on the radio yesterday that I may have heard before, but I didn't know it. Not bad. Not great, but not awful. We were in Barnes and Nobel Friday and you'd think they were piping their own music off of someones private collection and only had three songs. Thriller, Beat It and Billy Jean. And, sometimes they skipped Billy Jean. It was (pardon the expression) BAD...

I always liked 'man in the mirror'. It has the line..."If your gonna make the world a better place, just look at yourself and make a change" (or something like that)

This weekend was short. BigBee was home and back. We are all tired. Would it be awful if I skipped the family picnic this Saturday and slept?

And, we are HOME. I don't like my house. Messy. Hotel life was simple, we had no junk so it was easy to put things away. Here, there is no AWAY.

DeeDee is going to two camps, which I decided I could afford, then I realized what I didn't factor in, glasses. She has to wear them all the time, and has broken them in basketball. We talked about getting her two pair for the fall (one only for playing ball) and that was ok, now, she will be in camp Sunday to Thursday, with 3 practices on M-T-W, so maybe 10 total. I can see a problem coming in our future. And two pair of glasses for her will run us $300, at least. And, I need to get the appointments in, and find a new eye dr, etc, etc.

And fit that, plus a physical around another camp, a holiday, summerfest, trip to Presque Isle and another, tiny beach and have it done by mid July. And BigBee will be camping, and oh, by the way, I may be back to work...

I'm exhausted.

e-gads Momma bee! Your life is beginning to sound as exhausting as mine!! Nah - yours always seems exhausting.

I didn't sleep well last night. Every little noise would wake me up and it's NOT helping that my kids are becoming nocturnal! I'm REALLY tempted to wake them all up and make them keep normal human being hours today!! That and shut off all electricity to the TV, video games and their computer today. I wouldn't but when I came downstairs this morning I found the TV and video games on and the computer still running AND several lights left on and ALL of them crashed on various couches and floor space, sound asleep! Oh and two of them had left bedroom lights on as well - UPSTAIRS! Of course this all gets me thinking about the electric bill that is likely overdue and wondering where it is and how big it is and if we can afford to pay it AND the garbage bill today. Thus I'm not sleeping anymore.

Blessings,

Garsy

(((Garsy)))

I am ready to get mine into human hours herself. My problem is I spent time doing nothing (suduko sharpens the mind, but...) and I feel guilty getting her up without having things done. Like she knows when I awoke, but still.

Meanwhile, last week, we at breakfast and then ran all day, skipped lunch and ate supper. It worked. Now, I want breakfast. Bacon and eggs and fruit, just like at the hotel.

There are no groceries in the house, add that to my list of things to do. And laundry, and boy scouts tonight. Girl Scouts tomorrow (bronze and bridging) which needs my attention.

And photos online, return phone calls and pay bills.

And I didn't give my son money yesterday, he gets paid tomorrow and needs shower shoes, so we will be running up on Wednesday, I'm sure.

YIKES!!
