ORIGINAL: tuckonline The Devil's words are crafty. I posted this here because no one goes to the Writers Roundtable section [:(] and I thought I could try to integrate this here. This poem is supposed to be the Devil deceiving this poor soul... can anyone write a poem from God's POV to this person? I just thought this would be an interesting thread to see what you all think God would say... The Fiddler I’m made of clay, a simple bond, which permeates the Truth, yet deep within another wakes and separates my youth. At this time, I noticed here, a creature lurking near; and its tongue was slithering just like the Devil’s spear. He played a little riddle from the fork which pierced his side. It went a little further than the truths I knew inside. “Oh hither to and onward near just past the twisted loop, from there you’ll see the mystic crypts of all familiar scripts… “Just say my name and call me near and I will bless your loins, with pearly wines and silver plates and servants counting coins… “Such a life is only found through sweat and sacrifice, but I will scour all of this and bring it less your strife… “Oh, onward to and hither fro I’ll swing my magic vine, and from there, forever score, you’ll suffer here no more… “Just say my name and call me Dear and spite that mighty boar, for all He’s done is judge the world and bring you dreadful chores… “For whom is He to say to you that you should work thy land, and pay each man deserving such and whittle for the poor? “Love thyself and nothing more is all that I can ask, and with this creed, this blessed deed, I’ll end your crimson war... “Just follow me my brittle son and spite that mighty boar, for all He wants is nothing more than misery and poor…” These spoken words had troubled me, and left me trembling. That crafty swine had spoken clear and gave me gifts of wine! I can’t believe that mighty boar would hide these truths from me! Was I not made well enough to bring these forth from He? I’ll spite the land and trump His word and play my fiddle loud, so all can see and hear the truth that you have made me proud. The True Song "From before your birth I had a plan, I have known you from your youth, An unbreakable bond we have my child, yet you miss out on this truth. All this time, I've been here, watching all with cheer, Calling for you, waiting for you, bidding you come near. Yet one has come between us, he slithers like a snake, Offers you only temporal things, it's your life he wishes to take. Nothing but lies leave his lips, he aims to deceive, Anything to get in the way of my love for you to receive. Just say my name, and draw near to me, and I will bless you whenever you call, I promise never to leave you, never to forsake you, even if you fall. What joy is there to be had when hope is murdered by strife, Just take my hand, and peace you will have, as my joy fills your life. Just say my name and call on me, I will never let you down, Even as the world closes in, and underneath the burden, you feel as though you'll drown. Take my hand, I will lead you through, to the other side, Into the light, no pain and no fear, where darkness cannot hide. A righteous judge has no choice, a verdict must be made, That is why I sent my Son, for that price to be paid. Your sins all though as crimson, are made white as snow, Don't you see, He had to die, so my love you could know. Just love thy God with all that you are, this is all I ask, In doing so, the commands I gave will not seem as a task. Follow me my child, lay your burdens at my feet, Come to me, I will give you rest and even wash your feet. My love is unending, and will never fade away, Oh my child, how long I have waited, til this blessed day."
