Just wondering if you guys typically wear cologne (mens cologne of course....).

My wife likes me to wear it but I find it makes my eyes burn. So I do it only for special events (like anniversary dinners or similar) and try to keep it away from my face.

At times I'll use a body spray my wife says she likes. But there is a colon she has smelled on other men that she really likes but can't tell me what it is. And she won't go shopping for it to find it for me so, I guess she's outta luck there.

APZR -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/19/2009 1:49:48 PM)

Very, very rarely. So rare, I might as well vote "never". I'm allergic and sensitive to so many perfumes and colognes, I just can't tolerate wearing it nor standing next to someone who smells like they bathed in it. [:'(]

Other - on that rare occasion that I feel like it.

gcadena17 -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/19/2009 3:18:26 PM)

Daily for work - kind of back off on weekends. She selects it, I pay for it. Some of them aren't bad actually. I'm not one to shop or have a fashion sense but lately have come to know Giorgio Armani (I think that's how you spell it), Versaci (I don't know about the spelling here either), and some others. Took getting used to though but ended up somewhat hooked when often asked - 'what are you wearing - it smells good'. Of course, she doens't know that. [:D]

Once in a while - I used to wear it more often, but I find myself in fewer situations these days where it's appropriate. I don't like a lot of colognes, but my wife (then gf) helped me find one that we both like.

i have 4 or 5 different ones from Hollister i rotate around... different scents depending on what i'm wearing. and i have 2 different axe's, and a Kiss, and an old OLD bottle of Morbid (hot topic) from the 90s that has a few squirts left i'm saving for soem special occasion that i'll probably never deem good enough for it :P i prefer Hollister Jake and Hollister SoCal the best. those are some good smellin' stuff. and i see they have 2 brand new scents recently, but havent had to money, or the time for that. oh well.

jhuperetes -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/20/2009 10:01:48 AM)

Never, except when I feel like it. [;)]

I wear very little, and very infrequently. I change it by the weather, and what I am planning to do. I use unscented soap, shaving cream and lotion, soap, shampoo, and even unscented laundry detergent. So, I don't have any scent - one can say I am scentless.[sm=frog.gif]

Here are my favorites - Vetiver by Guerlain; Tabac Original; Zegna Colonia by Ermenegildo Zegna; OP Juice by Ocean Pacific; 212 Men by Carolina Herrera; Tokyo by Kenzo; Bulgari pour Homme Extreme by Bulgari; Richard James by Richard James; Culture by Tabac; ICE by Mäurer & Wirtz.

Bulgari pour Homme Extreme by Bulgari;

My first reaction to that was, "Doesn't 'Homme' mean 'potato'?" But I was thinking of "pomme" which is apple, and potato is "pomme de terre." [8D]

I wear Tuscany per Uomo Forte by Aramis.

GodandGuns -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/21/2009 12:35:24 PM)

I have 4 or 5 on shelf I wear when I go out

Badison -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/21/2009 1:56:06 PM)

Often. Lately it's been Original Vetiver (OV) by CREED

rayofson -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/22/2009 11:17:17 AM)

Almost never.

And the thing is that most of them have a shelf life. If they sit around tool long, they start smelling like turpentine. I use an after shave once in a while. Since I have a beard, I don't shave often either.

So that's what happened to that bottle of Old Spice I had since I was a teenager...

And here I thought that my sense of smell had changed.[8D]

trainfan -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/22/2009 5:57:20 PM)

I get enough headaches without wearing cologne since I am allergic to most perfumes and colognes and even some scented soaps.

So I voted never.

This! (except I voted special occasions)

Certain colognes actually give me migraine headaches, which means I feel miserable for most of the day. Because of that, I'm quite picky about wearing anything, and tend to err on the "au naturale" end.

rayofson -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/23/2009 11:10:12 AM)

I'm with you on the headaches. A lot of women's perfumes will give me a headache too.

jhuperetes -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/23/2009 11:26:41 AM)

Yes, I have to agree. Some women give me headaches too.

That's what I get. If they are bad enough it can wipe me out for the rest of the day. If they do go away the meds I take can make me feel kind of floaty which is almost as bad, just in a different way.

That's when Old Spice becomes Too Old Spice.

Me? The smelliest thing I wear is deodorant.

KaptZ -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (10/30/2009 9:32:02 PM)

Never.

Was always more afraid I'd put on too much and stink up the place. You know, those guys that everyone said behind their backs, "Put on enough Polo Phil?!"

mrlucky8ball -> RE: Do you wear cologne? (11/4/2009 7:14:15 PM)

Why wear it if you are not trying to smell good for someone?
