...Seeing that Christmas is a pagan, man-made tradition,...

I'm no scholar, but I don't think that pagans worshiped Christ or celebrated his birth.
And what is wrong (meaning sinful) with man-made traditions?

Now, THAT is a great question. There is nothing at all in the Bible about a MARRIAGE CEREMONY. Yet, the very same people that askew 'man made traditions' will wear white and exchange rings. Go figure.

God must laugh his head off at our self-righteousness.

Not to my knowledge. That celebration seems to be a later invention.

They did keep track of age, however. A marriage was binding (according to the Mishnah tractate ketubot) if a young man and girl who were arranged by their parents had sex and both were over the age of "9 years and one day." Bar Mitzvah (son of the commandment) happened at age 12.

Which sounds pretty close to "man made traditions" to me. We have to be very careful not to ascribe meaning to the Bible that is NOT there. Jesus would not have attended a wedding CEREMONY had he been offended by "man made tradition" in that sense.

Please continue in THIS THREAD already in progress on this topic.

HOWEVER, let me remind all participants about TOS 6 and 9:

- Attacking the character or motives of someone who differs with your view or denying that he or she is a Christian is unacceptable.

- Respect someone's request if they say they don't believe in Christ or are doubting their faith and express that they do not wish to discuss it, don't try to "cram" Jesus down their throat. If another Christian disagrees with you theologically do not immediately jump to the conclusion that they are not truly saved just because they disagree, as there are differences of opinion in translating Biblical doctrine.

If you participate in the other thread, please refrain from statements inferring that those who celebrate Christmas are worshiping Satan or are not true Christians.

Closing this thread.

Thanks!
