Hey Gary! Cool dugout :) I spent lots of time in the little leage dugouts with my dad...he coached little league for about 15 years. Then my husband coached for a lot of years too, and played on several city leages after that. My summers for lots of years were spent watching the practices and going to games...some good memories. Baseball is still the only sport I really like.

That's great that you get to go home for Thanksgiving. I do too...a whole 20 minutes away...lol!

I do get bored setting around doing nothing. I will go out to the stores Friday and Saturday. I won't do much buying, just looking. I will also go to a coffee shop that has wifi available for my laptop.

I like little league. It's fun to see teh kids having fun and playing a game that's just a game. Although sometimes the parents ruin it for the kids.......

I hope our kids want to play sports when they're little.

one of my co-workers was on teh board and coached little league for a few seasons. he had a great time, but it got to be too stressful and no one was doing any work. So he and his wife quit this year. He says he has a sudden feeling of relief. And his son is going to take a season off and just practice, then play more competitively in a couple years and HS.

The problem is parents who are trying to live their fantasies thru their children. Let the kids have fun and learn the game. High school is about the correct age for competative sports.

In the little league my dad and husband coached for it was never a problem. Maybe because it was a small town and very laid back.

My oldest played soccer for awhile in a much bigger league...I was shocked at the behavior of some parents! In fact, that was why she only played a couple of seasons...we didn't want her exposed to the language and behavior of the adults...pretty sad.

My volleyball league was fun ... no nastiness at all. But if I'd gone to the club level it would have been much more competitive and mean. That's why I stopped; well, that and marching band.

the marching band parents were meaner than the kids. One year the parents of the reigning state champs demanded a recount when their school came in 2nd place.

LOL Christine...that reminded me of my Grandad who used to say pecan that way. In fact, when I was little, I thought it was two words; pee and can. I remember wondering where in the world it got a name like that

Good evening Lori, Christine and Karlie

(Cuts the pie and passes a piece to everyone (with whipcream))

Amoung colleges's I follow KU and Wichita State -- I have attended both schools. I will watch any good game on TV. I will often be at the computer with the TV on with the sound turned down and listening to music.

I have season tickets to KU football, baseball and women's basketball. Men's basketball tickets are way too expensive, beside all of the games are on TV.

I go to a lot of baseball games, there is an indepdent league team in KCKS. I try to get down to Wichita, for a Wichit State game and the Royals have their AA league team there.

And every August the National Baseball Congress tourement is in Wichita. It is a 44 to 48 team tourment of teams of college age and older players. I try to catch about 25 to 30 games in 5 or 6 days, including a weekend where they play games non-stop from Friday night to Sunday night.

My avatar was taken at the tournement last August at 5:45 inthe morning.

Hey Gary!

All the games sound cool. I miss going to so many now that so much other stuff has taken over. We did go to lots of my nephew's last year when he was in high school. He's a pitcher and really good. He's on a baseball scholarship for college now...pretty cool. I'm hoping we'll get to go to some of his home games next year.

Still only morning here for me. Had a bit of an early start doing things, but still have a lot more to do.

Going to go walking later. Preferably when it cools down. It's in the low 90's here.

Hey Karlie, what college does your son attend and play baseball? I'm with you on the PEE CAAN business. People from the deep South say it that way and I wondered what kind of pie they were talking about. I'm in Oklahoma and I say "pi kahn' "not "pee can' ".

Hi Gary! MMMMmmmmm....thanks for the tiny sliver of pie. You see, I didn't make one for myself.

Now I can watch a baseball game better than I do a football game but HONESTLY and REALLY I am a certified bonified professional PEOPLE WATCHER!!!!
