If I get any more flack about this I just may park this downtown in front of the municipal building and just show up to drive it around every 10 days.

I like sandwiches cut on the diagonal.

Double-diagonal, so you can make a a butterfly. (<--closest thing to a butterfly)

Nice comfy chaise!

We used to have a thing called a "cuddler" that was a double-wide contoured chair that tilted back so it was reclined and also vibrated. It was a sad day when tape just wouldn't hold that chair together anymore.

....must...not ....make joke...about vibrating...cuddler............

I made kabobs last night. They were awesome. Steak chunks, orange pepper, vidalia chunks, tomatos..../drool.

I have a sandwich today! I'm excited. I never get sandwiches. Gluten-free bread is like, 5, 6 bucks a loaf.

My etsy is nearly up and running. Y'all have ot come spend all your monies when it is!

Since everybody on myspace is ignoring me, would y'all kindly take a look at my etsy shop, and offer any opinions? Thank you.

I like your page...where's the goodies? I've always liked those pics of you, though, so I'm hardly unbiased.

BAH! Six pages of myspace friends, and not a one responded to my bulletin. I am so ready to go, but I'm trying to figure out shipping I have no idea what to charge. So I'm going to have to package it to go, find a way to weigh it...

Books are at half.com, but other random things, like the Wham! care package, cholis, plus size vintage clothes, record bowls, will be at etsy...

You can get a postal scale at Office Depot or the like. Also, if you want to send things priority mail, you can get those boxes delivered free to your house.

I got one off ebay...I'm heading to the PO now, to weigh a few things - and mail some - to try and get started while I wait for the scale.

So, anybody got any requests for items you'd like to buy?

Yeah, it's a very visual story! The old German granny, flying down the road, waving her hand around, with a squirrel attached to it...

Billy Graham and I have always been alright. I was sorrowed, to hear the passing of his wife, Ruth, today. I know her writings about their prodigal son have been a big comfort to my mother. It was pleasing, to have him mentioned, in a flattering light! on a religion blog I read:

Though the venerable Christian evangelist Billy Graham is in his twilight years and semi-retired (his famous ministry is largely run by his son now), he still has time to answer concerned letters regarding religious Witchcraft.

"...if they are like other groups I've heard about, they probably take their beliefs very seriously. I have often asked myself why people like this turn their backs on Christianity and embrace something that is almost the exact opposite. Some, I know, do this because they've had a bad experience with a church, or they have become disillusioned by what they've seen of Christians. Others simply like to be unconventional, and this is one way of showing that they reject traditional values and ways of living. But others turn to groups like this because down inside they sense that something is missing in their lives, and they hope this will fill that empty place..."

Notice the difference between his answer, and the rantings of people like Laura Mallory, who recently weighed in on the peril of religious Witchcraft in the newspapers. While Graham obviously thinks modern Paganism is the wrong way to go, he doesn't question the sincerity of our beliefs, or that many of us arrived at them due to bad experiences with other Christians or with a particular Church.

That^s awesome. Reminds me that there's still a place for tact in this world and that there's a vast difference between having a heart for people and just wanting to be right.

Funny, now Tammy Faye's gone. I really was your normal "What's with her make-up" kinda gal, until I saw her interview with Ruby Wax, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

And her Larry King interview, I was just humbled by her dignity and grace. I know she must be so pain-free, now, and I feel relieved for her.

So. Who wants to hear Miasma's Summer Naught Seven Heartbroken Mix?

Great! Here we go:

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Modern Romance
Amy Winehouse - Love is a Losing Game
Fionn Regan - Black Water Child (one for you myspacers)
Hawksley Workman - Wonderful and Sad
Bonnie Prince Billy - New Partner
Julie Ruin - Stay Monkey
Nina Nastasia - While We Talk
Spoon - I didn't come here to die.
Will Oldham - Hard Life
Regina Spektor - Apres Moi
Liz Phair - Don't Have Time
Mazzy Star - Unreflected
Placebo - Protect Me From What I Want (another one for you myspacers)
Ryan Adams - Funny How I'm Losing You
The Gossip - Your Mangled Heart
Scarling - The Last Day I Was Happy
All-American Rejects - Swing Swing
Veruca Salt - Shutterbug

Huh, I thought this thread died longer ago than last July.

I really want this for my new avatar.

Not really. I think homeschooling, when done right, is pretty awesome.

I can't believe there's finally a reasonable ad up there on the annoying banner ads.

Pagan Christianity is a great book, I've recommended it in other threads.

This site is making me laugh out loud - no, not this one, this one.

And a poem for today I am loving:

"Windchime" by Tony Hoagland from What Narcissism Means to Me

She goes out to hang the windchime
in her nightie and her work boots.
It's six-thirty in the morning
and she's standing on the plastic ice chest
tiptoe to reach the crossbeam of the porch,

windchime in her left hand,
hammer in her right, the nail
gripped tight between her teeth
but nothing happens next because
she's trying to figure out
how to switch #1 with #3.

She must have been standing in the kitchen,
coffee in her hand, asleep,
when she heard it—the wind blowing
through the sound the windchime
wasn't making
because it wasn't there.

No one, including me, especially anymore believes
till death do us part,
but I can see what I would miss in leaving—
the way her ankles go into the work boots
as she stands on the ice chest;
the problem scrunched into her forehead;
the little kissable mouth
with the nail in it.
