Hi,

I'm also getting an error message when I try to view any profile (except my own). This is the message I get:

There is not such a person in our system

Regards.

When I try to load a page, it loads to about 90% or so (eg Elements 13/14, 6/7 etc - always just one element short) and then just sits there for a while, with only the header showing. 2-3 minutes later it then loads fully; seems like something is slowing it down.

Ok not sure if I am posting this in the right place, but why is it every time I post my post count goes down?
Granted I know I deleted a few but the last time I looked I was at 947 and now after posting on general faith it is now 938?
What gives, sounds a little backwards to me?

Threads that have been inactive for over a year are dumped.

HERE is a thread that discusses the post counts going down in the nightly purges.

I found a thread posted to Praying for Your Enemies thread when it should have been in the thread Prayer for those who are hurting.

Those may not be the exact Prayer and Praise titles.

I deleted the post, but I read somewhere else this weekend that another person experienced the same problem. It was not posted in this "bug" thread.

Sorry don't have any more information.

What should I do if I find more of my posts turning up in the wrong threads?

Do you read with more than one window or thread open?

I don't know if this was a problem with my internet service provider, Firefox browser or forums, but I had problems this weekend loading pages to read the threads. The message I kept getting was that Firefox couldn't open the site due to network server problems. It was not the usual server application error messages that are routine for this site. Anyone know what happened?

BTW, I received this message on other sites as well.

I've just been deleting some of my old subscriptions, and I discovered something I want to ask about:

It was my understanding that threads not posted in for a year were deleted every day. I'm finding many old threads in my subscriptions that fit that description. ?!?!

We have the ability to set certain threads to not be purged.

The Feedback & Info folder doesn't purge threads. Is that where you're finding them? If not, where are the non-purged threads?

Since I've already unsubbed from them, I really can't remember. No matter.

Thanks, though, for the replies.

I seem to be having a problem posting normal. I am not allowed to preview, change color, or edit a post. I can only click on the OK, and post.

I have restarted my PC, closed and restarted the software, everything except shooting my machine, and cannot figure out the problem. I presume, then, that the site may have something wrong.
I also noticed that the article I am responding to, and is in the #1 or 2 activity slot, does not have the icon moving, like those below, in lesser slots. Ah, and the little spell window is very weak, and barely visable, as I type this. Just tried to Preview this post and was not allowed, so I will click on the OK button//as//

Any guidance is appreciated.

In Messiah, Arley

I've been playing around with the problem I've been having with my browser (IE Version 8), and the forums.

The problem is that, under certain circumstances, the forum pane in the browser is shifted so far to the right that I cannot read the tail end of each line of text written in a comment.

I've discovered a way to cause the pane to be shifted to the left. If I'm suddenly in "right shift" mode, and I hit the "home" key, then mouseover the top tabs in the frame (Forums, Chat, etc.), the frame undergoes a "left shift". Then I can hit the "End" key followed by the "Page Up" key one or more times, to get back to where I was in the discussion. Now I can read ok, until I move to a different forum, using "Next Unread Subscription".

I can live with this, but it would be great to see it fixed, or to find out that a later version of the browser fixes the problem.

IE8 is being reported to have some bugs. I'd stick with an older version or use a different browser.

I've not had any issues with Firefox so far. It's a more secure browser than IE.

I'm having some problems with my "My Forums" page not loading correctly. It shows me as not subscribed to any threads, despite the fact that I've set my profile to auto subscribe to every thread I post in. It does this about every other time I go to that page. What gives?

Fritz, Shalom.

Just a thought, but has the incidence of problems increased since the 'time-out' switch was activated again? I was not experiencing problems worthy of report until after the timer kept throwing me out of ability to view 'subscriptions' without a new 'login' being performed.

Maybe nothing, .....but?

In Messiah, His shalom. Arley (And my spell-check window at the bottom of this window is a negative, and very very light) (Preview just refused to work. My next click will be the 'OK' button)

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "time-out" switch being activated again.

Fritz, Shalom.

That system you recently activated which boots one out, after a specified amount of time, for inactivity.

Example: If I am inactive for, say 30 min, and come back on, if I click on a waiting subscription, your computer cycles and drops me back at the same window I just clicked out of. I have to logout, and re-login, before I can retrieve a subscription thread.

For what it is worth, I no longer have use of any function be it Reply, Quote, Edit, Fwd, or any of the function bar stuff, like color, B I U hr,,,,,,etc. Kind of makes it frustrating when the only button that works is the 'OK', and then if I see something needing fixing, I cannot. Oh yes, and the Spell pgm is working weird. I get dim lit options, with no background. The spellify works ok, but my preview doesn't. I haven't checked out the 'cancel' switch yet. I will after I post this.

Any help, is welcomed. T hanks in advance. Arley

That is not a recent addition. We've had that ever since we launched Forums.

Thanks, It was just a thought, since I thought I saw a post where someone said that the time-out, or whatever had been turned back on.
Oh Well, I am still without any of the options, other than type size, and the post: OK button.
Thanks.
Arley

Fritz, Shalom.

I am finally getting frustrated. The system allows me to log in and out, change Font Size of a Post, use the 'B I U' part, and the smileys, but the Post part only allows me to Post, no Preview, Delete, no nothing. I am not allowed to Edit, or any of those options. I am not allowed to PM, or send a in-house generated e-mail. Suffice it to say I am a bit upset.

I post on other Forums, and have full capability there, so I can only presume that my problem here, lies here. I attempted sending you a PM, but nothing would shift over to allow me to enter/type anything, also.
Is there any way to rectify this problem? I feel like I am in Posting Jail, being punished for some reason.

I await some help with my problem.

In Messiah. Arley
