You can't wear that. Get out of my picture and go back where you belong.
Imagine going to a rally for your candidate and then being told you have to get out of camera view because of your religion. Such is the wisdom of the BHO campaign when they insisted that Muslim women wearing headscarves get out of the picture.
I'm not one of them, really.

Obama personally apologised to the two women over the phone. A campaign volunteer, not a paid member of his entourage, made the suggestion.

Well they still were not allowed in the photo. I am sure he knew all about it, and his campaign volunteer is still on staff. A volunteer would not take that type of authority with out being given it. Please, so easy to blame the lowly volunteer, nothing makes a better scapeGoat. I mean Obama did not here a ruckus, going on in the background?

A volunteer, by definition, is not on staff.
What are they gonna say? "We fired the volunteer who did this. He is now seeking volunteerment at the McCain campaign."

If they had been in the picture, then I am sure this thread would be on "further proof that Obama is a mooslem," so this is no-win situation no matter how you look at it.

Get over it guys if he wins you can thank Dubya for costing the Republicans not only both houses of congress but the presidency to. No point worrying about who gets their picture taken where and when.

Primary polls showed that Obama had problems courting "uneducated, hard-working white people." This was especially true in states like West Virginia and Kentucky. One pundit opined that the democrats can't win with "eggheads and African Americans." That Obama has to go after the "bubba" vote, a group Hillary apparently appealed to. I'm sorry if I offend, but from my take on some of those voters from those two states who were interviewed, I'd say not to bother. "I'm bout tarred of all them Hoo-sains". "He's gonna make all us white folks slaves, just like they were." "I don't care what he says, he's a Mooslem." "He's not one of us." Those are all quotes, or my best recollection of quotes, from some of the residents of those two states. I have confidence that those folks don't represent the majority of the American people and should not be the ones deciding this election. At least I hope not. Those are the folks, in my humble opinion, that probably would overreact to seeing women in scarves at an Obama rally. But they also claimed they wouldn't vote for "HOO-sain" under any circumstances. So, in the future, Obama's staffers need to calm down.

I'll give you another opportunity to do some spinning: The people who I quoted appear to be at the least extremely ignorant and at the most unashamably racist, and they don't represent the way the majority of American voters think. It's people like these, not all democrats, not all white people, not all anybody - that Obama's peeps are concerned about when then moved the scarved women. My point is, if you equate any woman with a scarf as Muslim, and assume because they're at an Obama rally that means Obama's a Muslim, you're beyond hope ignorant and no candidate should waste their time trying to appease you or court your vote.

If any other candidate were to make such insensative remarks they'd be booted off the campaign. I supported Mike Huckabee and now, McCain not because I'm anything you described but because I'm conservative and your implication of anything else I find QUITE offensive. So let me ask this question does everyone who doesn't vote the way you think they should fall into one of these catagories? Not even a consideration that there are major differences in the issues?
The people I personally know that would have voted the way you portray were Democrats. Democrats that have been Democats their entire lives with no real rhyme or reason as to the why's they vote that way.

The terms you used were offensive not you. And I appreciate you willing to apologize for using them and really didn't attribute BO's comment to you. I can appreciate you comments and passion but if we really want to see sterotyping go away...we have to have it go away for every one. There are SOME that will not vote for BO's simply because he is a "black guy" just like there are SOME who will vote for him simply because he is a "black guy" -- my hope is that majority of people will vote simply for the "Right Guy" based on the issues.
As for the scarf incident -- it's marketing at it's worse. I would encourage both campaigns to be authentic and not get wrapped up in "image making" machine. For once, I'd like to see it be about the issues.
