nothing makes sense.....the Word has become just words on paper...you can't hear Him anymore....everything begins to sound like a "pat" answer...things begin to fall apart around you...you feel yourself begin to fall apart...and there is no one there to pick up the pieces...only people wanting you to pick up their pieces....what do you do? were do you go? what do you do when you look back and see nothing...you look ahead and see...nothing...and there beside you....nothing....you know He is there somewhere but at the same time...nothing.... what do you do when there is no one to pick you up from the pit...when you know He promised...but you still remain in the muck... what do you do when the pain of just being begins to numb... not sure i'm really looking for an answer...or expecting one other than the typical answers... i guess i'm just crashing like the preverbial tree in the forest...does it really make a noise?

You just did (make a noise).

I would ask for prayer from my closest friends in Christ. I will share and open up to them pouring out what I am experiencing. I will surround myself with those who are willing to listen to me and encourage me, and I will do the same for them. I will remove myself from those who just take, take, take from me because there is no relationship there.

That is what I would do.

YES!!! It does!!!

You know what? You may get what sound like "pat" answers here, but dear friend, they are "pat" because they are tried and found to be sound. Jesus is there!! You don't have to feel Him for Him to be real and waiting and calling.

I am so sorry that you find yourself in such a place. Can you tell us what is going on?

Dear Father,
Please reach out to this child of Yours who sounds so lost. Please cause something to happen in this life that makes Your presence real and tangible. Father you know what has happened in this life to cause such despair. You are the Wonderful Counselor and I pray that You reach this dear soul and reveal yourself to her. ~ Amen.

Sister, I am so glad that you have come to this community. Let us reach out to you and love you in Jesus' name, okay?

Ya know what I think? I think you're in for something wonderful. When all of the known becomes useless, then God can begin to do something amazing. Your props are out. You're vulnerable. Just believe, dear one. Just tell God you believe and you are waiting. You can do nothing. You can see nothing. But you know He is. And wait. And let us know. Keep in touch with us. I'm hearing sounds of wonderful. . . LL

Edited to add:
Who is among you that fears the Lord,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.
Isaiah 50:10

If you tenacious in seeking Him and look and knock in desperation He is there. Yes many words sound like cliche's when action doesn't follow. Even those in the bible. Some people just talk like robots and know not even what they say. Like parrots repeating with no understanding much like the pharisees of old. Sounds like you are in a wilderness experience. He shows up the most powerfully when you keep seeking Him through it and He will honour you for standing firm. The sky was dark for Jesus as well in Gethsemane and the Cross.

Your post gives the impression that you are perhaps suffering from mild depression. Are you sleeping well? Sometimes when we are tired and going through trials, it can become difficult to want to motivate ourselves and we can become depressed and worn out. There is a text which comes to mind and I am going to share it with you and you can decide for yourself if it is a 'pat' answer or not.

"Come apart and rest a while".

We all need to take time to rest, relax and refresh. Perhaps a change of scenery for a short while (even a couple of days) or a change in your everyday routine if the previous is not possible right now. Do some things differently just for a bit of a change. Spend a 'little' time in prayer and the Word of God each day (even if you can't seem to hear from God right now - He will come through for you). If you continue to have low moods however, please seek medical attention. God uses the medical profession to help us too from time-to-time.

WHat do you do?

You find the answer to a few short questions from your heart....

Do I still love God?

Do I want to still follow after God.

Do I still trust God?

Answer those from your heart and you will have your answer as to what "to do".

For me it was, and remains....as Job said it best...."Though He slay me yet will I trust Him..."

Press on friend, trials only last a little while, though they seem like an eternity while they are happening.

PRESS ON and trust in God - HE KNOWS THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM, and HIS timing is not ours.

He tries the hearts of men, for theor own benefit, to show us what is hidden beneath our many words.

Trust HIM!

Bob~

Ok...a couple of "pat" answers

Consider it pure Joy whenever you face trials.

When you exhaust all your efforts and put up your arms in defeat realizing you have no control...God says..."Finally!"

When you have no tangible signs of God's voice or presence and you still believe.... you know that you know that you know.

and yes, you sound a little depressed too --treat it and wait upon The Lord -- He IS faithful.

Not always... but yours does because you caused us to listen.

Dear one... I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for the things that fall apart. I'm sorry for your confusion and frustration. I'm sorry that it seems that your world has come crashing in around you and you are feeling consumed.

However (and this sounds harsh and insensitive) it is right where God wants you. I can say this, because I have been in that exact same place.

God wants you to depend FULLY on Him and Him alone. He wants you to look only to Him for the answers... not to man. I can't tell you why He allows us to get so far down in the pit... maybe because then, the only daylight we see is when we look up and see the SON. But I do know, that when it's over and you look back over the situation, you will be able to see and say that it was God and only God who came to your rescue. And then to Him will be the glory!

I know that it is hard going through it... but God knows the measure of you. He knows how much you can take under pressure... and He won't push you to the extreme breaking point (even though it feels like you've reached it.) He is growing you and stretching you and molding you into His design and the plan He has for your life. He cares so much for you that He wants to give you His very best... and the only way He can do that is by growing you.

I'm sorry it hurts. I know that pain... and I will be praying for you.

blessings...
Pastor Debi

As strange as it may sound, realize you are in a good place. We need to come to the end of our understanding, and rely on him. Not everything has a "pat" answer. Check out Psalm 88.

I don't have any answers, "pat" or otherwise. I just want to say I've been there and I'll pray for you.

HI CARE...

Sounds like you are going through what is called "the wilderness experience."

The wilderness experience is usually when you are "feeling dry" and "don't seem to be hearing from God".

Your faith is being tested. Don't give in. When you read the Word of God, you are hearing from Him.

I would encourage you to still apply the Word to your life, and seek the face of God. It is in the times of the wilderness experience, you will grow if you allow yourself to. There is much that you can learn. You just need to keep up the perseverance. Don't walk away, instead press in. Keep going. You will come through fine as long as you do not depend on your own understanding.

Been there too.

I've prayed that God would really reveal Himself to me. He always shows up.

Folks, I'm afraid we've lost our OP! There is only one post and it has been a week.

Let us continue to pray for this dear soul. I pray that we are allowed to know that all is well!

Hello, dear friend. I am so glad to hear back from you and sorry that you aren't in a better place as of yet. It is okay to go through a dry season as long as you are working on what brought you there. God is still there-- He is faithfull and has not moved away from you. You will be able to look back on this time in your life and see His hand at work in subtle and loving ways that you don't see right now. I have been there. Just keep heart, okay? God gave us feelings to enhance our lives, not to control them-- they cannot be trusted. What can be trusted is God's Word, so build your life on His Word and your feelings will-- eventually-- come in line.

Bless you, we are praying for you through this time. Perhaps you may be willing to share more specifically with us at another time so that we may be specific in our prayers for you, okay?
